Yongbo, this was not intented to be a MRI on walnut. It is not a random title either. I could have made it more obvious by making more like the real MRI, but i took artistic liberties on both accounts.

Just kidding. It does like the brain structure. Very creative.

Wow! Incredible tones. Makes me want to have a smoke.I would like to ask you some technical questions, but don't know if this is the place to do that. I was looking to get into digital shooting, but was told unless I spend several thousands of dollars (I only have 2 grand to invest)I wouldn't be able to get good quality on black and white negs printed larger then 11x14. Now I'm thinking I should invest in a good scanner, but there isn't one that everyone agrees would be good for 35mm and 4x5. I love your work and would appreciate your thoughts. Vickie.

Having shot thousands of smoke photos and played a bit with composite compositions I stand in awe of your creative use of smoke images. BRAVO!

Vickie, having gone through all the stages, (1- analog capture - analog print, 2- analog capture- digital print 3- digital capture - digital print) I'd like to say as strong as possible that the full digital photography (3rd stage) is the most efficient option if care about the creativity.

Resolution as some may claim is not the weak point of digital SLRs. I used a 4MP Nikon Coolpix camera, to create huge compositions (some includes as many as 15 shots) that can NOT be captured even with a digital medium format camera.

Now with Rebel XT, I regularly create digital compositions with >30 megapixels.

The color and noise performance of digital SLRs are IMPRESSIVE.

Finally, when I got my Rebel XT back in April, I had wished to start all over. I wished that I had this camera 20 years ago.

Having said this, I have to disclose that I am very familiar with computers and softwares. There was and is no really penalty to switch to digital photography and printing. If you have limited experience with digital tools, it may take you sometime to learn how to use these tools effectively.
