Hi there
Very nice exposure. Good perspective. Perhaps a bit of creative back-lighting could take this to the next level.

Nice .... actually front head lot of flat light ... and composition is clear as subject .... I think could be better .... My name is Elie .... my actual portofolio is not much .... trying to upgrade it .... I work in DUBAI UAE.... are you living in UAE ... COZ the wildlife shooting looks like mine as subject .... Regards.

great image, main light looks good, I like it from the short side as you have it, the accent light hitting her back shoulder, hair and side of face is great but too hot on the hair and shoulder 6/5

thoughts
thank you for the kind words you posted below my portfolio. It is true I (reluctantly)gave this picture a harsh rating. I did not do so easily. A part of me thinks that if I am unable to give a good rating then perhaps it is best not to give one at all. After all, is there such a thing as good or bad or is it all a question of taste or even mood at the time of viewing. I do not like or even begin to understand ballet but would never imagine dismissing it as a worthless artform. It is just not for me. To dismiss it is perhaps worthless.
However, if we all only give marks for the pictures we really like then everything will be a top photo. It is difficult to know whether the forum should be ruthless (honest opinion is often ruthlessness disguised)or encouraging.I am new to this forum and shall give considered thought to how I should apply ratings before applying another one similar to that I gave yours.
However, as you ask, I offer the following thoughts on your picture. Technically it is sound, although a little flat for my taste. The contrast rather negates the competent composition. More importantly, this woman is beautiful, beauty worthy of some thought. What is it that marks your photograph of her out? To my eye nothing at all. It looks like a competent shot-no more and no less. Perhaps you failed in your responsibility to the beauty you had before your eye and lens. I don't know. You have this woman. I don't presume to know her or your relationship with her-but damn-couldn't you have imagined an image of her rather more original than this one................
I sound harsh and so must say this is only my opinion (and given only after you sought it out). dismiss it. I think we are all trying to learn about our photographs. I am yet to come across the photographer here who feels they know it all. Indeed, those that know it all are not here. I have seen some stunning photos given ratings 1/1 and i have seen some real crap given 6s and 7s. It's all just opinion so please don't take my words or rating too seriously. I wish you all the best with your photography.

Perfect model, perfect pose, very good backlight, but too strong font light makes parts of her face overexposed and flat. It's a pitty :( Maybe it was better on film. Sometimes scanners don't have the ability to grab all of the colors. If it is on digital... the same. Digial images don't have the same gray depth as BW film.

in all due respect to the last two comments, this shot is not flat. Neither in contrast or lighting. If anything the contrast is a bit high. The left side of her face may be loosing some detail but I would guess that it is there in the original capture. It seems implied that the beauty of the model was not captured in this photograph, I don't think that is true either, nice shot!
