Photographer's Request for Critique
--Scott Cromwell
barbie
After shooting this, my heart goes out to the ladies that have
endured neck flip after neck flip until satisfying the
photographer. I think only Barbie could exceed 100 takes and still
have a smile on her face.

ha!
I am usually not a fan of set up shots, but this cracks me up. and nicely shot, too. love the circle... can't believe you got that- or was that post pro help? in any case, very funny.

That absolutely caught me off-guard. What an excellent staged shot!

Thanks. Jody, the bottom of the stream where her head came out of the water was a little sloppy looking, so I cleaned it up a bit. All of the rest of the water is untouched. This is also basically full frame...8.15 Mp.

The water splash was well captured. I have debated doing some joke shots but I don't want to been seen in Walmart buying the dumb things :-)

That's really funny you said that, Keith. I stood in the doll aisle for 15 minutes at Wal-Mart yesterday, contemplating which Barbie had the best hair for the job. Everytime some people walked by, I told myself, "those losers don't know whether or not I have a daughter with a birthday". Of course, I did my grocery shopping while I was there, so I wouldn't be going to the register with just a Barbie....o.k. two Barbies.

Very creative for copying a technique. Maybe you can do it with a water scene as background.

Thank you all for the comments. I'm glad you see the humor in it. I laughed out loud when the idea came to me while driving to work the other day. I must thank Lars Raun for his great water fling shots and Roberto Roseano for his barbie shots. Without the photos of these two I wouldn't have ever came up with the idea.

Oh this is just TOO FUNNY! Thank you...you have inspired me to start shooting my barbies (ok, my daughter's) again. Thanks for the laugh...it has been a sad day today. Great photo. :)
