Sun Rings on Mount Baker
Taken on a summit attempt on Mount Baker, I was lucky to catch a
sight as spectacular as this! Unfortunately a nasty storm blew in
later, forcing my climbing team to hunker down just shy of the
summit. We spent the next sixteen hours in our tent eating chili
and sharing stories. The next day we awoke, completely buried in
fresh snow. Good times!

Thanks for the kind words, Matthew and Jaqueline.
Matthew, you might appreciate this: my friends and I stopped to take a break near Heliotrope Ridge on our ascent. While standing there, a skier zoomed by just feet from us. He was so quiet I didn't even know what just happened until I saw his tracks and connected them to him further down the sloped. At that point I knew I have to get into the backcountry someday with my skis! Mt. Baker is a beautiful mountain; I hope you get to snowboard there someday! -Kurt
