... I do say... special.
Hi
Cedar Bough Blomberg , February 05, 2007; 03:47 A.M.
I am shocked! I am twice in one day rating highly wildlife shots. But you've got two herons or egrets or whatever on a zebra in a field of flowers, what choice are you giving me but to praise you? Great crisp focus on the head of the zebra, great composition. One small nit... wish there were catchlights in the zebras eyes. Second small nit, did you artificially blur the background? Seems like it... distractingly so.

Unmanipulated
Hi Cedar,
I did not blur the background artificially...it is normal depth of field at F5.6.
Thanks for commenting,
Wouter

I can imagine the zebra saying, "What are YOU looking at?"
Great combination of animals and scenery. Great focus on the zebra's face.

Dear Wouter, exceptional image! I'd love to know where it was taken. It's not often you come across a zebra in a field of pink flowers with 2 egrets on its back. Curiousity is killing me! Rgds Carole

stripes
If this is an unmanipulated photo, then it is quite wonderful. If it's manipulated, then you need to work on your blurring and being honest. Either way, it would be fantastic without the look of being blurred. The first thing I noticed, even before Cedar's comment, was what looks like to me are blur marks. If that's the way it was, then maybe you should consider manipulating it so it doesn't look manipulated.

Beautiful image! Love the color.

Blurring
Hi Scott,
The image is un-manipulated, unfortunately there were some grass in front causing the stripes you pointed out. This is the way it was, and I am not really interested in changing the picture as I feel it is good enough just the way it is.
Thanks for the nudge in ethic ;)
