The guide-driver was absolutely sure...."There is a Lioness hiding-
stalking this Zebra herd we watch about 20 feet away"...Well it took
me almost 5 minutes of intense looking to finally spot her cause the
landscape was high grass as you can see on the photo! She remained
there totally motionless for more than an hour!I was expecting her
to finally unleash an attack but finally nothing happened!
This is sublime Theodore! Beautiful and so demonstative of the brilliant camouflage of the lion. I really commend you on this shot, its really different and stands out (unlike the lion!) from the usual kind of all in focus, all clearly in frame shot.
Nice shot I like the exitment this image creates as your not sure the lion will eat the photographer , thanks for the critique on my shot the anhinga landing ive been looking over your shots very nice , Look forward to seeing more
Jeff
Theodore, Puts me in mind of the movie "The Ghost and the Darkness". Looks like the only one with more patience than the lion was the photographer. Great return on your investment. Best, LM.
Wow, that must have been some guide to be able to know that she was there! Your picture is so incredible, I feel like I am there with you...patiently waiting for her to make the move. Feel great about this shot :)
WOW! Wonderful capture,
Excitement, Aggression, Power every thing is include in this picture
Very Intresting and artistic shot itself... Well Catch friend!
I get goosebumps... Just the best image of wildlife in a long time.
You have got 10/10 from me. You are welcome to check my love for Africa... cheers Jana
I can feel the heat, smell the grass, hear the nervous calls of zebras and experience the exitement. This IS how wildlife photography should be. Cheers, Mark.
wow, this is absolutely one of the finest wildlife images, i've ever seen! hat's off and compliments, you can be proud of this. and this image reminds me to a famous movie, i've seen several times, title "ghost and the darkness", maybe you've seen him too, as it fits perfect to your master-image! regards, bianka
Great photo! Taringere is a great park, ive been there many times. This reminds me of when my dad got charged by a lion in long grass at taringere tented lodge! Great place, great photo 7/7
Congratulations on the award! This is just like a ghost. It must have been hard for you to spot him. I wouldn't have seen him I think. Perfect camouflage and perfect capture and light control and definition.
I saw this image when you posted it, and I didn't comment I think because I figured it was a digital creation and therefore wasn't all that moved by it. But having just read the comments on this and realizing this is real.....well.....I'm just dumbfounded! This is the type of creative photography everyone strives for, and you've delivered big time! Congratulations!
