Playing Madam Butterfly on "C", (part 2)
This is a previously posted image if you see in my gallery. Thanks to Anakin Sk for the
comment on the lack of shadow in the butterfly, which I have added. Hope this is more
realistic. Thanks.

Yah, shadows are very tricky, I have a few constuctive criticisms:
From my perception the light source is coming from almost directly above and the shadow angle of the butterfly doesn't seem to corelate - my perception is the antennae should be more along the line of the depressed key and more vertical.
Also the shadow seems too harsh (like a spotlight) for inside lighting, try blurring it more.
Another observation is the white of the butterfly and the white of the ivories are out of balance. This is a most critical aspect if you are aiming for ultimate realism.
Keep working on this image, it's a beautiful idea.

The angle of the shadow is not quite right to match the existing light and the different angles of the receiving surfaces, but at least you've got it there.
Looks pretty good to me, though. Great concept.

I don't know how you did this, with the piano key depressed and butterfly perched so perfectly. It's a wonderful creation, and I commend you for this brilliant idea. I wish I had seen it before (if you still have the original easily accessible, please send it to me). Bravo! I'll be back to look at more of your wonderful portfolio at a later time. And thanks so much for your comment on my 'red barn' photo!
