Photographer's Request for Critique

This photo is entirely unprocessed, other than the resolution reduction required for posting here. I am new to digital work, and need mostly comments on what could be done to improve in post-processing, also what could be done beforehand in camera when shooting. Note that this was taken with an old manual lens, all automatics had to be defeated. Of course, feel free to comment on any aspect that grates, or that feels good; I am always looking to improve the aesthetics.
