To crop or not to crop...

... That would be the question... See full frame attached to my first comment. Thanks for your opinion.

Better...?

Here's the full frame... Thanks.

Mark Sussman , April 14, 2009; 07:02 P.M.

I'll vote for the full frame by a small margin, but I see your dilemma. Good work!

lyman gerrish , April 14, 2009; 09:09 P.M.

After going back and forth several times I'm going to vote no crop as well the full length shot seems to pull me in more

Rarindra Prakarsa , April 15, 2009; 05:12 A.M.

original idea Mark. Need an accent perhaps.

Marc G. , April 15, 2009; 05:45 A.M.

Interesting, thanks !

Rarindra, what do you mean by "an accent" please...? Something like a main point of focus...?

Gari Berasaluze , April 15, 2009; 07:33 A.M.

Interesting cropping - almost a square. Do you think b/w performance of this photo would give special importance to its graphic?

Ali Rezaeeian , April 15, 2009; 10:16 A.M.

Very creative shot MARC ^^^ Best regards

Thanks for all these comments.

Sergey,

"Interesting cropping - almost a square"... Should be an exact square, unless I made a mistake when cropping.

"Do you think b/w performance of this photo would give special importance to its graphic?"

Very good question ! :-) Normally, I would answer "yes". In most cases I go b&w for such pictures. For this one, I wasn't too sure, but I liked the skin color and the skin details, so I decided so far to leave it in color... But I might change my mind later...:-)

Cheers.

You are right! It's very difficult to choice, anyway a great photo. Perhaps the more cropped is also more original and abstract. Congrats!

IMO

The shape of the body and the pattern of the stockings are the bulk of this photo and are well represented in the cropped version. Minimizing whenever possible is the way to go for a shot like this.

Mark Anthony Kathurima , April 16, 2009; 04:58 A.M.

Marc, I was immediately drawn to this photo. after scrutinising both the crop and 'full frame' one, I have to say I prefer the uncropped one ever so slightly. I must admit though that the cropped one is very mysterious and well done too :)

Dear Marc...Very interesting work...Wonderful twisted legs together...Regards(Bobby).

Ton Mestrom , April 16, 2009; 10:59 A.M.

appealing work for sure. I would go for the crop without a second thought because it looks more abstracted that way but even more imortantly it's much more powerfull that way and, I can hardly believe I'm saying this, but I wouldn't convert it to b&w. You're right, great skin colours.

Hello Marc

Good composition and very sensual . Regards Dan .

Doug Lauber , October 17, 2009; 10:45 P.M.

Both are nice- great abstractions. I definitely prefer the full frame version.
