Photographer Biography
I take pictures for my own pleasure.
I am an information technology professional and project editor of several international standards (ISO/IEC) since 1988 (specialty: cultural and linguistic adaptability in information technology). In particular I invented a method for correctly sorting (collating) several languages (starting with French, my mother tongue), which became a Canadian standard, then the worldwide model for an international standard (of which I am the editor) for collating languages of the world in computer applications. I am also active in international character set and keyboard standardization.
In March 1998, for my contribution in extending the influence of the French language and culture (partly because of my involvement in international standards, partly for my plentiful writing on several Internet forums in French, partly for my cooperation with French colleagues), the French Republic awarded me the title of "Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres" (Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters), a title shared by the Beatles, Leonard Cohen and Marlon Brando (the latter became "Commandeur" [highest degree] of the Order the day I became "Chevalier").
