Leica CEO Steven K Lee fired by board of directors...

Josh Root , Feb 22, 2008; 03:28 p.m.

Amateurphotographer.co.uk is reporting that Leica CEO Steven K Lee has been removed from his position by the company's "supervisory board" and replaced by board chairman Andreas Kaufman. Leica is a company with a long and storied photographic history. But it has also struggled to find it's place in the "digital" age that current photography has evolved into.

This statement was released by Leica today:

"The supervisory board of Leica Camera AG today removed Steven K. Lee as member and chairman of the board of management of Leica Camera AG with immediate effect."

Then join in the fun of guessing Leica's reasons for making the move on this thread in the photo.net Leica forum.

Leica is too old to accept new blood, they still remain in the film's day for digital, those old men in the board is waitting to die. I wouldn't spend that much money buying a poin-to-shot sensor camera.
