I am a beginer myself starting with an SLR camera. You commented on my deer photo, and yes it did lose sharpness in the scanning process. The original photo is actually very sharp. You have some very pretty pics, my favorites are the flowers, butterflys and sunsets. If you have a chance take a look at some of the other photos I have taken. I was very lucky on these deer shots. I was driving down the road and noticed them in someones yard eating. I was also given permission to go there and photograph some more. So when I get better ones i will add them to my collection. I also have a couple that i would love to turn into postcards for my area, just have to get more info on how and where to start. Keep shooting!!!

Regina, a superb and meticulous portfolio. I noticed your comment on Els' mushroom photo and immediately thought you might like this image ? But I am blown away by the attention to detail you have given most if not all of your images. I believe this quality is one that helps identify and distinctly separates the extra-ordinairy photographer from the average one. As one who believes in this approach, I would warn you to not become too obsessed with the perfection of the shot with many subjects, but allow your instincts to guide you at some points in time too. I have felt that in my own work I get too obsessive with the construction and miss the real moment of the exchange. This is very important with portraits or candid (hence the expression) people shots. Overall, you have one of the nicest portfolio's in the pictorial style, that I have seen in quite a while. I also think you have a lot in common with Jayme Hall another photographer of such high caliber. Check her out if you like, I've given you the link too. Thanks for sharing such a beautiful body of work.

I hesitated to add a comment because of the shear volume but on the off chance you might read mine I wanted to say that you take your viewer on a day trip with your photos and give them the very best glance of what you saw that day. I love the documentary nature of your beautiful photos and your keen eye for aesthetics.

Thanks so much for such kind and considerate words. Guess I should come by my own portfolio more often so as to respond and to regain my self confidence. Especially on those days where I get frustrated with what I see as my own shortcomings. We are often our own worst critics.

Hello Friend!

Well here it is another year is passing away and we are coming into the holidays. I think time starts to go faster as we get older, it was just yesterday I wished my friends Happy Holidays and here it is again the end of a year. The holiday lights are starting to be put on some of the trees here in Dallas, we were out last night and some were lighting the trees. I wish for you all a holiday season with family and friends, after all is said and done all we have is each other.

I want all of you to know just what your comments and ratings on my work means to me, your words are my motivation, my drive to discover, to learn this art that we all love, thank you for taking time and thank you for caring about my works. At the same time thank you for letting us see your world, our lives are so much the same, we all care about our families and friends and we all share the same things, maybe someday our photos will help make for a lasting world peace.
