Umair, your portfolio is the witness of an artistic soul. Your cover different subjects but in all of them the thoughtful, careful and sensitive approach is immediately visible. Some of your photos are fantasy pictures of oriental bed time stories. Some others are images and reflections of the world as it is today. It is such an enlightment but also great delight to see how you use lighting and color to approach your subjects of capturing! There is a subtle touch of beauty in each of your photos but not of that kind that "hits" the eye. It rather caress the eye of of the observer.

I'll be returning frequently for opinions and comments but above all for just looking at your wonderful pictures.

That fantasy image is really the "loner" in your portfolio. My first reaction of your protfolio was: National Geographic quality! Technical great images, but also images that are more then just an image: th contain the culture of their surrounding, tell a story. Such portfolio's are true inspirations for me as I hope one day to be able to shoot a photo that is more then just a pretty image

Well, I guess it's part of my protocol (and probably everyone else's) that when someone's rating/commenting on one of my shots, I honour him by doing the same. I must say that you took this 'obligation' and turned it into a very pleasant visual journey. I don't remember rating anyone with two sevens on the same day, minutes apart, and this is only one of the reasons why your images will stay in my mind. Your work is very clean, meaningful, touched by artistic tendencies, it does your country (and your continent) a great favour.

Finally, I'm glad (and a bit proud, I admit) that you liked some of my shots that much (although I think you've exaggerated with calling me an artist, I just blend moments with feelings) and left such warm thoughts.

I think you did a wonderful job with the tent peggers, showing the approach, decisive moment, spearing, and showing their success. The oxen races are also very good because of the views front and side. The side view, especially shows speed. Sharp and good color.

Hello Friend!

Well here it is another year is passing away and we are coming into the holidays. I think time starts to go faster as we get older, it was just yesterday I wished my friends Happy Holidays and here it is again the end of a year. The holiday lights are starting to be put on some of the trees here in Dallas, we were out last night and some were lighting the trees. I wish for you all a holiday season with family and friends, after all is said and done all we have is each other.

I want all of you to know just what your comments and ratings on my work means to me, your words are my motivation, my drive to discover, to learn this art that we all love, thank you for taking time and thank you for caring about my works. My comment pertains to two different shots... "Girl in the Window" and "Pigeon Girl". Both are very good photographically speaking, and I like everything about them... the framing, the color, and the blur in PG. I especially like the detached expression on the child's face, it's very haunting... and, very telling!

But, I'm curious... For "Girl in the Window" you state: "this girl was staring out on the street through the window in a narrow old lahore street." For "Pigeon Girl" you state: this cute girl was playing around with pigeons @ wazir khan mosque.

Is this not the same child in both shots? (I believe it is.) If it is, it really shows (and very well) the difference that "angle" can make when shooting a subject... don't you think?

thank you very much for your visit and keen observations! this is the same girl in both photos. Wazir Khan mosque is situated in OLD LAHORE generally refered to as WALLED CITY with its narrow streets where you barely cross, if a passerby coes from opposite direction, without clinging to side walls. the mosque has several windows opening onto these streets on either side. during my frequent visits i met this girl and she willingly posed for me at various locations inside and outside the mosque. these two pics are from one of those sessions. best regards!

I am so pleased to that you posted a comment on one of my pictures. It brought to your wonderful portfolio. You bring to life your troubled, yet astounding country in a truly lovely way. You show us a side of Pakistan that we rarely get from the media in the West, and for that you have my gratitude. It really was a joy to browse your portfolio.

I was lucky enough to spend a few days in Pakistan a few years ago, visiting Taxila fulfilled one of my great travelling dreams. The people were so friendly and genuinely pleased to see me, a tourist, visiting. Such hospitality is not found in many places. Unfortunately my travelling companion refused to endure the 20 hour bus ride to Gilgit, and denied me the chance of travelling along the Karakoram Highway.
