Janie Barber , March 11, 2006; 01:33 P.M.

Deidre, you have a great portfolio. I am not too much into animals, birds, etc, but I am very impressed with your b/w's and the old structural architecture as seen in La. Thanks so much for your comments on my portfolio. I am an owner/operator of an antique and collectibles mall and have dabbled in antiquing for years so my favorites tend to be the "old stuff" I am located in East Texas where the true old homes and barns which I love so dearly are going by the wayside. Look forward to seeing more of your photos.

Mark Starr , July 16, 2008; 07:35 P.M.

Deidre,

I want to thank you for your very kind comment on my portfolio, and say that it means so much more to me coming from someone with such talent. I am really floored by your work (and of course I love the b&w images in particular!) - your sense of tone, color and composition are wonderful, but your choice of subject matter is even better.

Your "Protector of Souls" series is very powerful. Where one image would be nice, the group of them really makes a statement. I find that your images invoke a strong sense of mood, something that is difficult to capture and often missing from many photos. The title of this series seems to hint at your sensibilities as an artist- your ability to capture something etherial in what you photograph and present them to others for consideraton. Your folder titled "Light" is a real masterpiece collection - the tones are superb, the compositions powerful, and the feelings they evoke are all powerfully subtle (I know this seems a contradiction, but I can't seem to express it any other way...) You have created an amazing portfolio, and one that I will enjoy coming back to again and again for inspiration. I can't wait to see what you are working on now! Mark

Jack Crockett , July 22, 2008; 02:12 P.M.

Many thanks for your encouraging comments on one of my pictures. I came back to your portfolio and my goodness, I was overwhelmed by some fantastic photos of note. Mriganka Bhattacharjee , April 21, 2009; 11:34 A.M.

Hello Deidre,

First of all I would like to say that you 've an amazing range of photographs... Each segment is unique and outstanding. Protector of Souls is simply awesome each shot speaks a story. Simple yet complex!.... Mind blowing

Thank you for your comment on my portfolio. The living conditions of the children was pathetic. I intentionally tried to keep an object in color to emphasize the pain. Technically I could be wrong, but doing so, I desire that people should start thinking and do something so that we can be blessed with a world full of "CHILDREN OF GOD"

Regards

Linda McLellan , June 16, 2009; 02:56 P.M.

Deidre, i am so glad that you commented on my portfolio. you have some really great work in your portfolio, and i see from your work that we have some common interests. i live in Ponchatoula, about 50 miles form New Orleans and 40 miles from Baton Rouge. my mother-in-law lives in Alexandria. do you ever shoot with another photographer? there are some of the older seedier parts of Alexandria that i would love to shoot, but am a little afraid to do so by myself. if you ever come down to New Orleans, and would like to go shoot together let me know.

Jon Basaguren , June 19, 2009; 03:04 A.M.

Hansjurgen Bauer , July 21, 2009; 08:02 P.M.

HMMMMMMM,

YOU ACTUALLY DISAPPROVE because the arch is not found in nature? I'm not all that interested in what's found in nature, for that matter, most of my images, if I've achieved the effect I'm going after, are entirely unnatural, the aim being to concoct an image of a romantic landscape that does not exist, never will exist, bathed in the most sublime light that ever shone, an image no one can remember or describe...only desire, I'm interested in creating art, not much interested in purist photography, there's a world of difference. As for my arches, they've been in use for centuries. You may wish to dip your toes in the vast ocean of nineteenth century genre painting where you'll find the same effect. As for "nice," if that's all I've achieved, then I've failed miserably.

Wieslaw Mamon , August 03, 2009; 09:36 A.M.

Deidre

Thank you for your comment on my portfolio. I'm happy to have discovered your gallery as it is inspiring and intriguing, filled with mysterious atmosphere which for sure makes your works stand out from other portfolios on the PN site. Interestingly, I'm mainly attracted here not by particular single images but by whole folders, in which their elements are like jigsaw pieces, they may look really modest but properly arranged create outstanding pictures. I've read your short-term goals in your biography and I'm pretty sure you're on the right way to achieve both of them. Sincere compliments and best regards -wm

Melanie Newman , August 20, 2009; 01:29 P.M.

Deidre, you definitely have a gift from God. I get a sense of your spirituality in your work. Not because of the subjects, ie: graveyards, religious statues, etc, but because of your use of light and color. Even your dark work has a certain burst of spirit in it. I have really enjoyed looking through your portfolio. Keep it going.

Hi Deidre,
I am speechless in viewing your Charlie Orphan folder.
I can hear each image speaking to me - the voice of the children and their dreams of their future - beautifully captured and reflected in your compositions.
Truly a masterpiece series. You should consider publishing a book on the theme.
