Hi Don! I've commented before about how wonderful your landscapes are, and they truly are! One thing I've noticed, and I've seen this on a few of mine as well... the digital images just don't seem to have the richness and impact of the film ones. It's something I'm struggling with. I still shoot both, Velvia 50 and my 20D (hopefully soon a 5D), but when I nail a Velvia film image compared to a digital image, 9 times out of 10 I prefer my Velvia. I'm finding this while perusing your images, I'm especially drawn to your film images.

Hello Friend!
Well here it is another year is passing away and we are coming into the holidays. I think time starts to go faster as we get older, it was just yesterday I wished my friends Happy Holidays and here it is again the end of a year. The holiday lights are starting to be put on some of the trees here in Dallas, we were out last night and some were lighting the trees. I wish for you all a holiday season with family and friends, after all is said and done all we have is each other.
I want all of you to know just what your comments and ratings on my work means to me, your words are my motivation, my drive to discover, to learn this art that we all love, thank you for taking time and thank you for caring about my works. At the same time thank you for letting us see your world, our lives are so much the same, we all care about our families and friends and we all share the same things, maybe someday our photos will help make for a lasting world peace. May you and your family be blessed this season.
Happy Holidays and Happy Shooting

Really Nice
Looks like you had a great trip to S. Georgia. Really nice images. Who'd you go with? Looks like you were there a couple of months ago. We just returned this week from a return trip to the Antarctic in general, including S. Georgia, Falklands and the Peninsula and there was considerably less snow. Some of my photos from this trip to follow.

You are a very lucky guy. You get to do what you love and visit some of the most beautiful sites in the world. You have some very beautiful photos here. Don, I came across your portfolio through the POW as I immediately recognized the Japanese bridge at Royal Roads. You have a wonderful eye for landscape and have done a fine job of portraying our beautiful northwest coastal areas. I'm glad to see you stopped in Victoria. I recently travelled along the Hood Canal and was taken by the photographic potential. Unfortunately it was heavy rain all the way. I hope to do it again soon under better conditions. Thanks for sharing.
Paul Trunfio , May 01, 2008; 01:42 P.M.
Wow. I found you because of the POW. Great job. In my opinion some of these images are much more striking than your POW, at least to me. My favorites are: Fall Color Newhalem and The Red Carpet Treatment. Bravo. Thanks so much for such beauty.

Awe inspiring
Don,
All I can say is.. WOW...You have a great eye and they aren't over processed. Are you using a polarizer at all? This is what I want to do when I retire...travel and shoot and just hope and pray I can get a chance to shoot some of these areas and hope to have a few of my shots come out like some of yours...well done.
David Taylor , May 01, 2008; 07:17 P.M.
Great photographer
Don,
Love your images with only this caveat. . . . nothing in nature is as saturated as you make it. Your photos remind me of those photo books at Borders. . . . too much color. Back off a little. Your images are great without the deluge of color.
Best,
Dave Taylor

I like it natural
Don, your portfolio is great! I don't think is overdone, the color saturation is just about right to my taste. I used to like those images that we see on photo.net that are saturated beyond natural, now after viewing your works, I feel photos should be taken the way you've been doing it. It show more of the real nature.
