Tanks for comment. You have a very nice portfolio. the photo originates them has been made to one column of smoke generated from an incense rod. I have then applied one small alteration in order to obtain the shape to heart (the translation I have made it with an Internet program. I hope is comprehensible)

Fascinating portfolio. I looked at several photos and wanted to find words to express why I liked them...and struggled to come up with words that made sense. I like the way you are playing with perspective a lot!

spetacular portifolio

Perez, your portifolio is spetacular, full of wonderful photos. I enjoyed very much your photos of New Zealand. I lived in New Zealand for 6 months, 3 years ago. That is the place for a photographer to live. That time I was not prepared to take good photos. But I did a lot of shoot in Milford Sound, Tekapo Lake, Mount Cook and other wonderful places. Your photos of NZ are excellent and also the other photos, are all excellent. Congratulations.

Thanks

J, thank you for your support of my work. It is encouraging and reminds me to review your portfolio. Your vision is enhanced by your technical skills. I'm needing to move beyond the moment of instant gratification and think more about technique- tripod, lighting etc. Your work is, as always, inspiring. Regards. Denise.

Vignetting

Thank you J for taking time on my photo "Going Home". You're right about the vignetting. I've only started to use my new 18 - 200mm lens on my D80 so I'm new to this effect. This was indeed taken at max zoom (200mm). I'll check PS and see what the post processing can do. Thanks for dropping by and by the way - great portfolio.

Great collection of nature shots. Sometimes I look on with envy and think how fortunate you are to have all these wonderful things to photograph. What I would do to have the chance. But then I think is the grass greener on the other side ? Cheers.

Hey J

What's up J and thankyou for your kind comments on my work, if I could end up like Lucas and not Vincent would be wonderful!! Both artists have been a big influence on my photography career!!! I also am a big fan of David Hockneys Polaroid work!! Thanks for taking the time!! Also i looked through your work and it is very wonderful with such great locations!! You won't believe this but I have a very similar shot to your "Plant in an oil lamp" photo!!! It is a Polaroid that I shot last year! I put it on my Gallery page for you to check it out, it's the same thought process as your shot, but just with Polaroid! All my work is hand manipulated. Keep on viewing and shooting!

Cheri Perry , July 06, 2007; 09:56 A.M.

Hi there, Thank you so much for your review of my San Piero a Grado Church. I appreciate it very much. As for how I got the image, I stood back far enough to fit it in the screen and then just did some cropping in ps. No special lenses or anything. I did layer it onto a different bg as it was a sunny day there and the sky was all bleached out. Other than that, nothing special. Thanks so much for asking. I appreciate any and all reviews I receive. Best Regards, Cheri

Tom Maher , July 12, 2007; 10:31 P.M.

Thanks!

Thanks for the kind words on my Altea, Spain picture. After viewing your portfolio it adds new meaning to your praise as you have some amazing photos here! Stunning work and thanks again.

Cheri Perry , July 16, 2007; 08:10 A.M.

Hi there, thank you so much for your comments on my San Piero a Grado photo on 5 Jul. I appreciate it very much. You asked if I used Photomatrix...no I use Photoshop CS2 for about 90% of my editing I do. Otherwise for very minor adjustments I use ACDSee. You asked how I got the Wide look to the building. I just stood way back from the Church and took the shot, I then cropped it in. It is a "fat" looking building naturally too. LOL The only layering of photos I did was layered the original onto a different cloud formation otherwise only some minor changes to the levels and colors is all I did.

I just looked thru you portfolio and you have a magnificent portfolio of photos...wow you do some awesome work. I'd love to know what you use for your editing. You do some great editing. You have some wonderful flower photos. I love macros and flowers and you do them both very nicely. ANd you have done some editing to some of your flowers that really make them look awesome.

Nice work...and thank you again.

Cheri

You have a great eye for form and space in your photos. The photos of the Southwest are exceptional. thanks for sharing all your photos.

Denise L , August 02, 2007; 10:14 P.M.

Thanks

Hi J, nice to hear from you. You've been busy taking great photos. You wanted to know how I did the shadows in my Reflection photo. Nothing fancy. All part of the actual photo. I did a high contrast to get rid of small details. I wanted the essence of the image. I don't know how to do much PS and am exploring and experimenting on my own. Cheers. Denise

John Galyon , August 05, 2007; 08:12 P.M.

J....

I was about to delete a photo in my portfolio that you were kind enough to comment on...so i wanted to be certain that i acknowledged and thanked you before doing so. i usualy don't like to make any comments here that don't refer to the photographer's work...not mine. I'm a bit pressed for time...but promise to visit your fine portfolio soon...when i can give it the time it deserves! best regards, john

Cheri Perry , August 06, 2007; 09:15 P.M.

J, I am so sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you, but I haven't been on here much lately. I'm so sorry... You asked for some help with your flower shots, how can I help you? I use PS CS2 and PS 7.0 mostly but have used a few other editors as well, so let me know what I can help you with and I'd be happy to help.

Eye for Beauty

J: Thanks for taking the time to rate my "Enchanted Rock" posting. You have a marvelous talent for capturing the beauty you find on your wanderings. I have been to many of the same places and I know how hard it can be to take the beauty and wonder of the natural world home in an image. Great Portfolio.

Hello Friend!

Well here it is another year is passing away and we are coming into the holidays. I think time starts to go faster as we get older, it was just yesterday I wished my friends Happy Holidays and here it is again the end of a year. The holiday lights are starting to be put on some of the trees here in Dallas, we were out last night and some were lighting the trees. I wish for you all a holiday season with family and friends, after all is said and done all we have is each other.

I want all of you to know just what your comments and ratings on my work means to me, your words are my motivation, my drive to discover, to learn this art that we all love, thank you for taking time and thank you for caring about my works. At the same time thank you for letting us see your world, our lives are so much the same, we all care about our families and friends and we all share the same things, maybe someday our photos will help make for a lasting world peace. May you and your family be blessed this season.

Happy Holidays and Happy Shooting

Ken

I also wan to express my deepest gratitude for your thought on my pictures, they mean a lot to me. At the same time, thank you for sharing your vision of the world with us, though we may live in different places and even come from different cultures, we share a passion towards this wonderful hobby?. Happy Holidays and Happy Shooting!!!

Happy 2008

Hi J, what a pleasure and inspiration to look through your site. Your beautiful landscapes remind me of the images of Courtney Milne in his book " The Sacred Earth ". You asked how I did my photo of the farm house. I'm embarrassed to say I'm not sure. I tried to find a PS history but couldn't. I just did basic levels,brightness/contrast,saturation, and sharpen. I did negative brightness and + contrast. I dodged the house and the road. That's all. I'm taking a PS course in January and will know more. I'm honored YOU would ask ME !!!!. I wish you a happy, healthy 2008- filled with beauty and creativity.

Marta Eva LLamera , February 02, 2008; 06:53 P.M.

Hi J,

I appreciate your comment on my photo, 'Unguarded moment' but most importantly it allowed me to discover your exquisite portfolio. Your images are just wonderful particularly your landscape images of places frequently photographed and rendered differently by you. Amazing compositions that produce very dimensional images. Just great! Regards - Lester

Hello, J. Perez, your two creative compositions in today's Critique Forum has taken me to your portfolio. You have interesting things here. I like the way you compose your images, namely your nature photos. I will be looking forwards to see more. Best regards Milena

Beautiful gallery of photos. Very good job capturing the beauty over the seasons!

Adrienne Garden , August 06, 2009; 10:40 P.M.

New Zealand

I was looking through your NZ photos just last night! I am interested in the images people make in NZ, because I myself have not done much photography there and when I do go home I don't know what to look for. I am not so keen on the 'Lord of the Rings' style. I haven't seen the real thing, I confess, and have seen too many calendar photos. I think your images strike a good balance between L of R stuff and more everyday scenery. I wonder if this makes any sense? Anyway I am going to NZ next month and will see what I can do - but it isn't really to take photographs that I am going, so I will get what I get! The few I have posted are of a river estuary I know well and which I always love to get back to just because there is nothing special there, and the beach near my sister's house.

Regards

Adrienne
