Tanya Truong , December 10, 2007; 11:15 A.M.

Jim...

Thanks for sharing your beautiful images of places you've been on earth. Your nude photography is very interesting, too esp. the drama session. In this session, you have used nude as a medium to express dark emotions. Very well-done.

I also have enjoyed your folder of "bathing". The photos are so beautiful, and the models are very comfortable with you. The photos remind me the work of controversial photographer "Jorge Sturges". Fabulous work on this folder. Congrads, Tanya.

Phil Kogan , February 16, 2008; 08:28 P.M.

Jim,

The Vietnam Memorial and Arlington Cemetery are much photographed destinations but stand out here for the fresh perspective you provide. "The Dark Side" combines the use of lighting and the photographer's imagination for a stunningly dramatic effect. The portfolio overall contains is some very high quality work. Thanks for sharing.

Nice work, Jim. Most of the nudes I see on photo.net could be lumped under the category "More Pix of Nekkid Chicks." But yours are definitely a cut above the pack. I like the literal "in your face" application of the fisheye. The photos meld the fluidity of the human form with a touch of humor that's too often missing in nude photography, which tends to be a pretentious and self-important genre. I like the fact that you don't overwork them with unnecessary digital retouching. There are a few instances where a bit more evenness in lighting or makeup to match facial skin tones with the rest of the body might work for you.

Peter Blum , March 19, 2008; 05:48 A.M.

Hey Jim,

Thanks for you comments on my portfolio.

Like you surreal images. It leaves things to the imagination and creates questions. Interesting travel pictures. Your street images catched my special interest, as they are a bit closer to my own. Lots of nudes - female shapes never stop to intrigue. Many of these images are a bit different - some personal touch.. Just like the one I recently commented.

Some of the your images have a more sad side - but they are well done.

Wishing you a happy easter holiday.

All the best

Peter

Beng J. , April 26, 2008; 09:04 A.M.

Hi Jim !

Your photos are truly a work of art. Looking at your portfolio is like being brought to another world, the same world but looks different !. I had lived in Berlin for 11 years, but had not even thought of taking photographs like yours. I went to London and Paris maybe more than 20 times. I went to all the places you took the photos too, but it is just a different world. Amazing art work.

Catherine Jones , April 28, 2008; 01:41 P.M.

Thanks very much!

Jim, thanks again for your comments on another one of my pictures, I really do appreciate it!

John Peri , January 28, 2009; 07:46 A.M.

It's strange Jim, or is it, but looking at you portfolio as a whole, it kind of fits together. Indeed, you experiment with different styles which is very commendable, but there is consistency in all you do and a disitnct personality that emerges. I find there is also a continuum, like a story line, which gives added momentum to the view. Highly attractive work that would really look well placed in a galery.

Jim Phelps , January 31, 2009; 05:12 P.M.

John,

I have not been able to find a suitable gallery yet. But I continue to look. Jim

Bill Symmons , April 11, 2009; 10:32 P.M.

Jim

My feeling after going through your portfolio, is that it has a style that seems to have an "edge" to it and there is variety but it does hang together as I see John has already said. I think from looking through your work you are pushing yourself a bit to try new things and deliver some originality. Always commendable and in this work the effort is visible and is successful.

Great stuff, my compliments, Bill

Adrian Bishop , June 10, 2009; 03:51 P.M.
