Jamila, these are wonderful! I think you could go professional any time. It's really fun to see how you are experimenting with so many different subjects and styles. And I love the way you are using color. My favorites for color are the Indonesian puppet, and the carp. My favorite for composition is the eucalyptus. The others I'm really drawn to are the grasses, the tulips, the gorilla, your grandmother, and the cat. Fine work!

Jamila, I love your sense of composition, and the way you use light and color. The picture of your niece with her new scarf captures completely the rapture with which a young child inhabits the imaginary world conjured up by the scarf -- and the blurred lower region of the scarf infuses the picture with motion, while its lack of detail draws our eyes to your niece's face. Very nice! Your treatment of the carp resonates with exotic mystery, and your use of color there is simply stunning! -- it could hang in many museums (or homes). We will be watching your portfolio with great interest!
