hi

thanks for stopping by my pictures, was wondering what you do (when youre not taking pictures)? and how is that you know so much about and are so into insects? its reasonably rare these parts of the world.

Jan Jedryka , August 14, 2004; 07:48 P.M.

Magnifique!

Your macro work is seriously good! Your mega magnification is nothing less than magnifique.

The tonal range of your pics lacks the harsh contrast of oversharpened, clipped curves, it shouws you have a wonderful eye for detail and presentation. It is refreshing and enlightening seeing things that we so often take for granted, we so horribly mistake, misunderstand amd misrepresent. Thank you.

Awesome job with the macros. You truely have a talent where some photographers (namely myself) just won't go. I hate bugs. Superb job.

Brilliant.

David McIntyre , May 03, 2005; 01:04 P.M.

This is a stunning portfolio. I mean it--after I opened the page, I suddenly found myself waking up on the floor of my office; ten minutes had mysteriously disappeared. I've seen other people try to use the Canon MP-E 65mm f2.8 1x-5x, but not with results like these. I never realized springtails could be so colorful!

Iona Orbinski , May 22, 2005; 04:25 P.M.

Wow, great portfolio! Very impressive! Never knew bugs could look that cool!

I've been thinking about buying a macro lens, well, now I know which one to get! Canon MP-E 65mm f2.8 1x-5x! Quite expensive though... but if I get the results you get, I'd be one happy camper!

Michael Glatt , June 05, 2005; 07:30 P.M.

WOW

JUST PERFECT PORTFOLIO of this beautiful small world...wow bravo!!! you are the king of photographs of insect

J. Harrington USA (Massachusetts) , August 07, 2007; 07:59 A.M.

Insects

Your collection of insect macro images is fantastic. If I could make a suggestion, you might do well to add captions on any images that don't have them. (I know that many of yours have the captions.)

It's likely you'll be contacted about usage rights for your images in textbooks, encyclopedias etc. This could result in a substantial income for you.

Lots of people who publish books use image search engines, like Google Images to find image content for books. (I've sold right to many images found this way) Image search engines rely heavily on captions or "alt text."

By making sure you have detailed, descriptive captions on ALL your photographs, you'll increase the potential for image sales. You deserve some return on your efforts! Good luck.

Thank you Krister

for sharing these wonderful, fascinating photos. It's a real pleasure to browse your portfolio! My honest respect for your skills, patience, determination and knowledge!

V Moore , June 12, 2008; 06:19 P.M.

Fascinating

Your photographic technique is masterful. Good focus, croping and color. Insects are not my usual interest but I'm delighted to have browsed through your portfolio to see the critters in their natural settings. Thanks for showing me another world.

Yannik Hay , July 24, 2008; 04:44 P.M.

Fantastic album! I have that Canon MPE 65mm lens and I find it so hard to make in focus photos. How do you achieve this, you don't seem to use a 4 way rail. And there is no automatic focus. Please help me.

And keep on sharing these beautiful shots!

Regards, Yan

Alex Elias , September 09, 2008; 03:21 A.M.

congratulatioins on your grat work. Not only you impressed me with it but I most amazed by the fact that you know the name of them. Best regards and again congratulations on your outstanding portfolio. Alex

Tom Pernal , September 17, 2008; 09:10 P.M.

All

Your shots are nothing short of breathtaking. I am interested in the equipment you used for the outdoors shots. I suspect a macro flash unit, and/or triggered externals.

I am very curious how you get the dramatic lighting effects in your portfolio.

great macros

wannabe

Thanks for the great macro images. You are to be commended on your technical skills, but also you patience and clear love of your subject. You make these insects look beautiful, and allow us to see so much that we can not see by eye. I would love to find out some technical details on how you achieve such wonderful images of such tiny subjects.
