Beautiful & original work!

Your figure studies have a wonderful rich interplay of shadow and curve. Your compositions are often refreshingly rule-breaking, which increases the dynamic quality of, particularly, your monochrome studies.

Neil Peters , December 10, 2006; 09:04 A.M.

Your models show a nice effeminate quality not often seen. That aspect, inside wonderful compositions and light, makes for very interesting and alluring work. Thanks for showing some of Kay's work, obviously a great teacher and friend with a vision of her own :)

Michelle Wolfe , December 31, 2006; 07:39 P.M.

I think your best portraits are your "girl next door" photos such as "Quiet moments 1 & 2", and "Red 1" You have a gift for seeing the innocence without creating just a "snapshot". The twisted and contorted poses don't add much to your otherwise very perceptive portraits. Keep up the good work!

Michael, Thank you for your feedback. Just a comment on your comment... Most of the 'twisted' images are just as 'natural' (undirected by me) as the portraits. Most of the models who work with me are provided a setting or outdoor environment in which to generally pose freely. I enjoy the naturalness of the "captured" portrait, but there is something truly wonderful about the line and beauty of the full female form.

Catching movement, Catching grace

I have been to your portfolio several times with intent to leave a comment. No I will follow through. I think your work if fantastic. You capture a free flowing style of movement. I think the poses the models are caught in are excellent. And you have a knack for Catching movement, and Catching grace. Not the typical set up poses that you seem to find everywhere. Even I get caught up in doing the standard poses, but like you, I try to let the model sor subject just be, and let them move and be natural. If that is as complex as them berndoing over backwards or doing a somersault, or as simple as just lying there and looking up at the ceiling. It s the natural shot and your own eye that catches the images that convey emotion. Great work. Keep at it.

From Roxanne Bohn http://photo.net/photodb/user?user_id=2224913:

For centuries the female form has been art, lately it seems many have forgotten to use it as such. You have reminded me! Your work with form, and light is just breathtakingly wonderful!

You make curves dance even when they are still.

Howard Nowlan , January 20, 2010; 02:37 A.M.

Howard

I'm afraid all of my fine art figure images have now been removed from this site due to the fact that they were constantly being pirated from this location.

Howard Nowlan , August 15, 2010; 08:40 A.M.

Howard Nowlan

I'm pleased to say my fine art nude galleries are now back on-line.

Tim Rosier , September 30, 2010; 07:42 A.M.

Great portfolio, loving your beach nudes and envious of your location as so close to so many fantastic beaches. I grew up in Plymouth but work dragged me away 28 years ago.

David Wittemann , November 05, 2010; 02:39 P.M.

You have an excellent body of work! Your sense of light is quite refined. You have very good control of the whole image. Your nudes series is very strong and emotive. The use of soft light is well done. Thanks for sharing.
