Thanks for stopping by my portfolio. Your opinion of it is very much appreciated. Looking around yours, I like your eye for the abstract, but the portraiture is excellent. Great posing and the one titled Carrie is my favorite. Nice work!

Thank you for stopping by. I really appreciate your words which leads me to believe is coming from an equally sensitive individual. We need more sensisitivity in this world.

Tanya Truong , April 30, 2006; 04:10 A.M.

Hi Neil,

There's a lot of sensuality and playfulness in your photos, and that's what i also want to convey in my present and future nude photography. Thanks for visiting and giving comment on my "legs & roses" photograph. Your kind words are well apreciated, and your interest help to enhance my pursuit of photography. warm regards, tanya.

wolfgang fuerst , May 01, 2006; 02:53 A.M.

Neil, you really have got an "eye" & a feeling for the moment. your portraits are adorable. And having done a lot of darkroomwork and handcolouring myself, i'd like to encourage you to take another step more close to photoshop - its not that complicated, it colours the images and not your fingers in a quarter the time and your photographs are definitely worth it. On the other hand, i do like very much that kind of "style" your photos show, it's very appealing and personal. go on & have phun ;-) wolfgang ...

Beautiful Work

Thanks for your kind comments on my shots, Neil, a compliment coming from you is very much appreciated. Your work is fantastic and original.

Emmanuel Enyinwa , May 23, 2006; 02:23 P.M.

Good job.

It was Red Auerbach who said that there are two great plays: "'Put the ball in the basket and 'South Pacific'". You care about your subject, and get the viewer to care about your subject. At the end of the day, that is all that matters. Your work is great, Niel. I feel honored to comment on them.

And, yes, I love Cartier-Bresson as well.

Sachin B , May 25, 2006; 02:07 A.M.

Thank you

Thanks Neil for sparing time for my portfolio. I loved yours too, I somehow have an inclination towared B&W shots, but unfortunately since I do lot of travel photography, I feel that I may not do justice if I dont show how colorful the places I visit are.

Cheers, Sachin

Paula Grenside , May 27, 2006; 11:38 A.M.

Hi Neal,

Thank you for visiting my portfolio and the very kind words. Your portraits are original, different. There is dreaminess ( I already noticed this when commenting on one of your photos) and the search to capture much more than a face, body or landscape: it's inside it all what your eye and camera frame.

Michael Wakslicht , May 29, 2006; 08:52 P.M.

Thank you for visiting my portfolio page with your comment. Your "Warbirds" photo and many of your B/W images are an inspiration to me.

Comment

Thanks for the comment, I've been on this site for a year and yours was the first one i thought maybe i was doing something wrong. I actually see some similarities in what you shoot and what I am working towards, I admire your work. I find that my interests lie somewhere between portraiture and fashion. Please feel free to leave comments on my photos and give me an honest feed back. Best Reguards,

Olesya Storozhuk , June 11, 2006; 09:35 A.M.

The first work of you, that I saw in the Critique Forum, was "hand-colored hair fashion". I was really excited abot the technology of colouring a photo. And later I discovered a very nice comment in my Portfolio from NEIL PETERS... Then I found out that it was the same person...

Dear Neil! Thank you very much for your comment. It has really encouraged me after not seeing any of them for such a long time!

And now about your works... They have a great deal of philosopy and remind me of old times of the 60th, or 70th, or 80th... I don't really know which times exactly, because I did't live in those days. But I know abut them from stories, music and pictures and now I can feel the same spirit in your photos. Thank you for this feeling, very-very much!!... REALLY GOOD JOB!!!!

Many Thanks...

Hi Neil

Thanks for your very kind words about my portfolio. Your images have an earthiness and worldly-wise feel to them which digital photographers seem to struggle to capture. Good to see the work you're doing with film. I have got my hands on a couple of old film cameras which I am really enjoying, so it seems as if I am going backwards in time from digital rather than forwards!!

Take care, S顮o

Very nice work.

Michael DeCorso , June 24, 2006; 10:05 A.M.

Hello Neil...your work with the female models is varied and well done...I like the diverse poses which are natural looking...edgy, a touch of sexuality but without any hint of pornography...also ejoyed the warped sense of humor (shooting teddy)

Pierre Dumas , June 24, 2006; 05:30 P.M.

A lot of taste...

...photographic penetrating eye, technical skills, beautiful and not only that ladies, the charm of the good old black & white...There is a story to tell about what all this portfolio shows which I'm not exactly prepared for. I think this is enough for the time being.

Cheers!

Hello, thank you for the comment, the image is totally a pre-fictional riley stewart. I enjoy your work, i like hand tinted photos. Jan Saudek is a master at hand tinting, you might want to check him out, if you havent already. www.saudek.com

Johanna Mantere , August 22, 2006; 05:11 P.M.

I`m sorry to bother you Neil! The thing is that you were the first one in the PN that showed some intrest on my portfolio. That`s why I thought that it would be very interesting if you`d check my present portfolio and tell me what you think about it -- if it`s gotten better or worse, in your own personal opinion. I don`t know if you even remember me or my pics anymore and I know that I`m probably asking too much. But I`m still eager to learn more and I thought that this would be a good way to do that. I`d be very honoured if you`d do this for me, but I also understand if you`re too busy for that. What ever you decide I`m always thankful for your encouraging words!

Best wishes, Johanna

Johanna Mantere , August 23, 2006; 03:35 A.M.

Wow, you were quick! I didn`t expect any answers this soon. But you were not only quick, your feedback was also encouraging and delighted -> I`m confused:) But I`m confused in a good way. As I admire your work so much it`s both strange and awesome that you find so many good things to say about my own modest portfolio. But, anyway, it was very kind of you to stop by for a cup of coffee and help me on my way towards beeing a better photographer. And you are always welcome to pop in again! I`ll keep the coffee fresh.

Thank you, Johanna

Portraits with a story to tell

Neil, I am glad to have finally found this wonderfully thought-provoking portfolio. You are one of those rare portaitists who do not simply make an image of a face; but you seem to capture a time and place that the subject transits in and out of. Your's are illustrations in the books of peoples' lives. I greatly admire this rare skill.

Tanya Truong , September 18, 2006; 12:59 A.M.

A story-teller, a poet, a photographer...

...and many more from your genuine heart. I feel the transient sense of sweet humors in most of your photos Neil. Your dedication and diligency to your artwork amaze me, and i greatly admire your characters and your artworks. The "Moods" in your photos make the photographs come alive. I feel like i am there with the subjects. Thanks for being a wonderful friend/companion and an artist that inspires me so much. With my warmest regards, Tanya.

Donn Dobkin , October 25, 2006; 10:09 P.M.

Nice portfolio

And I especially liked the image of the kicker from ASU. If you had allowed it to be rated I would have given it a 7/7. It's just about perfect, with the view of the sideline and the field together. It's apples and oranges with some of the great landscapes and wildlife photos on Photo.net, but it's about as good as it can be for it's genre, and I love it!

Thanks also for stopping by my site, I appreciate it.

Dear Neil,

Thank God you've stopped by my pages, otherwise I would have not known you nor your work. You are so curious in ideas and compositions that you leave me breathless! Compared to you, what I do with actors seemed limited and pointless. But then, to each his own...

Like you, I have an M3, with a gorgeous Voigltander lightmeter stuck on top. Having said that, because it's double-winding, I don't use it for work but only for play. I photograph the actors with a Nikkormat FT2 with a 105mm lens, in natural light, in a small car park near my house. I believe that negatives are only drafts - it's only when you print them that they become images. But I am not as imaginative/creative as you!

I learnt photography 12 years ago when I still lived in Paris. My friend Olivier taught me everything I know today and Cartier-Bresson, Sebastiao Salgado and Gilles Peress from Magnum were his friends so they'd come to see him sometimes, and would correct my first photos!!

I am glad I've come across your work and add you to my Interesting People List! More soon.

Lisboa Esfera , December 14, 2006; 07:53 P.M.

A lot of talent and new ideas. Thank you for your kind words.

Asa Frye , December 22, 2006; 08:23 A.M.

superb! and thank you!

Neil, thank you for your thoughtful comments and critiques on my photos. I think your work is exceptionally creative, imaginative, and fun! In fact, upon visiting your portfolio I was surprised to discover that yours are the creative eyes behind "kids being kids", one of my absolute favorite photos here on photo.net! I must come back and "hang out" a bit when I have a moment to "relax". There are lots of surprises to discover here! :)

andy T , December 28, 2006; 06:54 A.M.

Neil, you sure are a master of narrative photography. Your pictures are full of rich stories, attaching meaning to the world around you in a very creative way. I was very lucky, and extremely honored, that my pictures caught your eye, so I had the opportunity to visit your portfolio. I'm intrigued! It will take me many days to fully appreciate your photos and this has already become one of my favorites in PN. All the best for the new year!

David Vorland , December 30, 2006; 11:46 A.M.

Thanks for visiting

Appreciate the comments you've made on several of my images. Your portfolio is truly magnficient -- especially the portraiture. Bravo!

John Peri , January 01, 2007; 07:08 A.M.

A truly magnificent portoflio. So rich and full of the diversity of life, always photographed from a perspective which gives the viewer a very personal look at the subject. Also remarkable is the ability to switch from portraiture to the mundane with an equal passion for capturing what is special there without in any way being invasive. A true artist's eye on a journey which it is fascinating to follow.

Hamid Ghodraty , January 01, 2007; 05:21 P.M.

atmospheric and classic photos.

Vassilis Margelis , January 05, 2007; 05:50 A.M.

Hello Neil,

Thank you for viewing and commenting my photos. I appreciate your kind words. I wish I had the experience and the knowledge to comment your work also. All I can say is that you are a real Photographer, you know how to use light and to compose a Photo. Your b/w photos are excellent. The tones are great and well balanced accross the frame. For the colored ones I can not say much because they are not many either. I hope that I learn and be able to write more in the future.

Best wishes for the New Year. Regards Vassilis.

Thank you again, Neil! It`s nice to know that you still check my portfolio once in a while:)And that you still like my shadow-images. It`s too easy to forget how important shadows are -- you know, we wouldn`t be able to see much without them, but who does actually think about that? I think we all should appreciate them more:) And they`re beautiful, too, in any conditions..Neil, Your portfolio is as great as it has always been. I`ll come back again:)

Hello Neil

Thanks a lot for the visit, and your words --really appreciated, a great welcome since I started posting here only a couple of days ago.

A 'solid' portfolio, great sense of light-tones-composition --love those jets and the desert photos, especially the cactus in tri-x ('grain' is something I've been working on lately in digital). Arizona is one of my favorite places, I'll post soon some desert photos from last time (2005).

Cheers and keep it up. Ciao from Italy

Luca

Anton Granik , March 19, 2007; 04:27 P.M.

I like your b&w solid style! The whole portfolio is solid and very well shot and selected. Very good tones and compositions!

Rebekah DeMaya , March 26, 2007; 11:53 P.M.

Hey Darlin'!

I have to say that I swear I could feel you through your photos. A wonderful thing. It didn't seem like you posted images to impress - rather, you shoot & post images you enjoy yourself. Very expressive of who you are & what you see that others don't neccesarily. (Ya ya...awkward sentence...I know...I'm tired! Shush.)

Jayne Ely , April 06, 2007; 10:22 P.M.

wow :o)

Thanks so much, Neil, for your encouragement. Believe me, anything I did RIGHT was an accident! :o) After seeing your work, quite frankly, I don't know why you gave mine a second look, but thank you.

Lynn Kagan , April 27, 2007; 11:30 A.M.

This is one of the most creative sites I have visited. What imagination! The depth and range of your black and white photos is beautiful. Thanks for encouraging those of us who are beginners. Valerie

Amigo

Your work had impress me very much for sereval reasons. One of those is that your models just show the necessary skin, do not get me wrong, I also like some nudes I have seen in PN, but some are just full of vulgarity. Your B/Ws are also very interesting. jc

Hello Friends!

Well here it is another year is passing away and we are coming into the holidays. I think time starts to go faster as we get older, it was just yesterday I wished my friends Happy Holidays and here it is again the end of a year. The holiday lights are starting to be put on some of the trees here in Dallas, we were out last night 11-7-07 and some were lighting the trees. I wish for you all a holiday season with family and friends, after all is said and done all we have is each other.

I want all of you to know just what your comments and ratings on my work means to me, your words are my motivation, my drive to discover, to learn this art that we all love, thank you for taking time and thank you for caring about my works. At the same time thank you for letting us see your world, our lives are so much the same, we all care about our families and friends and we all share the same things, maybe someday our photos will help make for a lasting world peace. May you and your family be blessed this season.

Happy Holidays and Happy Shooting

Ken

Hi Neil: I took some time today to look at your portfolio again, and comment on my favorite images of yours, which are all from the desert series...some amazing images. Besides being immensly creatively talented, technically skilled, you seem to be such a nice person. You can tell about people often by the sentimentality of the images they choose to take. Thanks for the encouragement, and keep up the amazing work. I love the nature shots, and the southwest images you take...lauren
