Best regards ! Babis.

Babis

Thank you for taking the time to view my portfolio. As you can tell, I am still searching for the mood I would like to portray through this medium which challenges my technical and artistic skills. First, I am learning and experimenting with my new Canon PowerShot Camera; Second, I have only touched on the "World of Digital Art" which, for me is extremely fascinating. This helps to confirm my belief that life is a continuous learning adventure...and who knows where that will lead us. I am so happy to be on PN and to learn from other artists, such as yourself. Thank you for your encouragement and support. Rebekah B.

Jacqueline Anderson , September 23, 2006; 08:47 P.M.

Hi Rebekah~ I really enjoyed viewing your photographs. I like your naturalistic approach of your one folder. Please continue to post your lovely work. Congrats and welcome to PN! Regards.

Rebecca Baker , September 25, 2006; 02:12 P.M.

Natural Beauty

Jacqueline, Thank you for your comments and encouragement. After visiting your extensive and beautiful portfolio, I found it to be,as I expected, very true to your love of natural beauty. My husband would also agree with you; he has many photos similar to yours. He just hasn't found the time to contribute to PN so I thought I would give a try with my new Canon PowerShot. As you can tell, I am still exploring the technical and artistic aspects of this wonderful new medium. I have already learned so much from many others on PN such as yourself. I look forward to seeing many more of your photos and please remember that all critiques +/- are appreciated. Rebekah B.

I just vented a bit with a Mr Brickwater about his nasty comments about your fractals. That prompted me to watch your portfolio and I am mighty surprised and impressed by your nature pictures. Honestly. It's georgous, your perspective of the world is full of vitality, hope and joy. This is what photography should be all about...My most respectful encouragement to you Rebekah. This is genuine.

Rebekah, I thank you for your encouraging words and kindness. If eyes are the windows of the soul, then the soul can see through the eyes and through the camera to capture not only the beauty around us but inner beauty as well. Seeing your wonderful captures here, i can see a little of who you are, and it is good, creative and alive. The best to you snd your expression through this art form, Bruce.

Hi Rebekah, You have an excellent eye for color and you different prespective folder is wonderful. Keep on shooting and hello from the Flat lands of Virginia...

Peace,

Tony

Rebecca Baker , December 13, 2006; 11:43 P.M.

Flatlands of VA

Tony: I just visited your extensive folder to try to determine what flatlands of VA...mmmmmaybe...southeastern part of the state. Your photos show cypress swamps...looks a lot like the area we pass through going to False Cape National Park but the bridges are definitly more upstream...maybe nearer to Richmond. You have a wonderful versified portfolio; there are so many photos to comment on. I especially like the "Window Folder" and your abstracts. Thank you for stopping by to visit. From Rebekah B. in the Blue Ridge Mountains of VA

Fernando Yarce , December 15, 2006; 01:47 P.M.

Thanks

About your words in "locura II", I do think that you have given an exact meaning for those photos.... I love the way you did it... really.

For me, it is a bit hard to find a name for each photo...but I feel you understand so easy what I want to say.

Best regards Rebekah

Hello Rebekah

I love your digital art work. Your photos are wonderful too with such great use of light and color. I use several programs for my work. One part is a program in the Nero software program. It's not an add on unfortunately. Thank you for your comments as well!

Rebecca Baker , April 19, 2007; 02:16 P.M.

Cathy

Your comments and digital information is so appreciated. I have dicided to upgrade Corel and will look into the program you mentioned. There is so much to learn and PN has been such a wonderful support system for my new adventure. Blessings, Rebekah

David Hurst , May 08, 2007; 12:36 P.M.

Hi, Rebekah,

A beautiful and varied portfolio. Your digital art is stunning, and of the others I especially like your Summer Rose and the Spring Sunshine Tree, although there are some others that are almost as good (in my humble opinion!). Keep doing what you do to create pictures. It definitely works! Kind regards, David.

Rebecca Baker , May 09, 2007; 10:30 A.M.

David: Thank you for stopping by to visit. Your comments and encouragement are appreciated. Being on PN has been a wonderful, learning process of exploration into traditional photography and in the creation of digital art. Hope you will continue to enjoy your time on PN. Best Wishes, Rebekah B.

Roger: Thanks for stopping by to view my portfolio. I have viewed your site and Garden Art website several times. What a beautiful place to live for such an exceptional photographer. Your images are an inspiration for all of us on PN.

Daniel Barrington , May 17, 2007; 06:44 P.M.

You have some beautiful shots, a great portfolio.

Rebecca Baker , May 18, 2007; 01:31 P.M.

Daniel

Thanks for stopping by to visit. After visiting your site, your photos seem to indicate that you must live near the mountains or in the southeast of North Carolina. I recognize so many of your flower shots from the mountains and cypress knees from the swamps. You probably can tell from my portfolio that I live in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Any way, I enjoyed all of your photos and especially like your watercolors. I also prefer to approach photography from an artistic point of view so I am always looking for new ways to create. Welcome to PN where most all comments are appreciated and where ratings are often overrated. I look forward to seeing more of your creations. Blessings from the Blue Ridge, Rebekah B.

Dennis Barnett , June 04, 2007; 01:24 P.M.

Thanks, Rebekah, for your nice comment on my gallery. Regarding your work, you have many beautiful images; great color and capture, nice compositions throughout. If I may offer one suggestion, I would edit down the work to what you consider your "best" work. I look forward to continued visits.

Rebecca Baker , June 12, 2007; 01:33 P.M.

Dennis: Your critique is appreciated and taken seriously. I am in the process of reorganizing my portfolio. Hope you will visit often to check out my new folder, "Latest," for new photos.

fabio Corradi , June 12, 2007; 02:05 P.M.

ThanksThanks

7 7 form my blue dragon fly??? I need the value 10 10 to rate your photos... A caleidoscopio of colours end "Emotions". Ciao!

Rebecca Baker , June 13, 2007; 11:56 P.M.

Fabio: It seems to be the time of year for Blue Dragon Flies. I tried to photograph some last week while hiking near a pond. I watched one fly around the pond many times waiting for it to land, then saw it being chased by another one...which led to the photo above. Seeing the blue of the wings was difficult against the blue water; however, you were able to better capture the detail and blue color of your Blue Dragon Fly's wings. Look forward to seeing many more of your photos.

Daniel Barrington , June 18, 2007; 11:50 A.M.

Rebekah, If you look through my porfolio, you can see I struggle with the same problem. I tend to put a few shots up and slowly try to decide which I prefer. I'm not to good at it. You took it, put the one you like best. It was your eye and thoughts that captured the image, I would go with my on judgement to pick the best one. Ain't easy! Light and the color of the the overall scene or subject. I try to imagine the tones and contrast I'll get. Obviously a dark suject with dark color surrounding isn't going to produce a good BW most times. I tend to shoot in color and then look at the image in BW to see how it looks. That way I kind of have the best of both worlds. If the Color version is good and the BW stinks, I've got the color version. Lazy, I guess, works for me. You have pretty good judgement it seems to me, as evidenced by your portfolio. I live in a small town on I-95 about 30 miles South of Fayetteville,nc {Ft.Bragg]Half way between NY and Miami.

Rebekah, I got your message. You missed my office by just a little bit! It's behind the Lawn, just before the amphitheater; not the most photogenic part of grounds. Actually, it's mostly parking lot where I work. ... Anyway, I'm in a rush and will be back. A quick glimpse through your work tells me there's a lot to see.

Sorry i missed some of your latest posts. Thanks for your kind comments. I'll keep looking for new stuff. Living in your area you have some wonderful choises. I'm worried about it being so dry are you going to have a good colorful fall this year? db

roger sonneland , August 14, 2007; 06:08 P.M.

Rebekah

Thank you for your message, I just added the piece on light, as I get asked so often how I get the colors I do. Yes that is my foot, it is feeling rather good this morning after being told it looked young!! I finally got your husbands site up, for some reason it kept going to Len Marriotts site. There I saw a couple of messages from you, and eventually made it to your mans site. People say I am middle aged now, but for the life of me I know not one person of a 120, So I think people are just trying to make me feel good when they say 60 is middle aged. My wife Jude and I have 5 children, all well and truely growen up. We have not one grandchild, my wife tells the kids there is a biological clock for grandparents also. Do have a look at our website of where we live at www.ngaiobay.co.nz . Tell you what if you ever do make it You can have a honeymooners bath will all the trimmings. We can only buy fireworks in New Zealand 3 days a year, so we buy in bulk. We say the fireworks are for only special occassions, but you will never meet two people, who can come up with a special occassion more than Jude and I. We are off tomorrow to visit a couple of our kids who live in Australia back in 10 days time. I had a look through your work again, some lovely images there. All the best........roger

Daniel Barrington , August 17, 2007; 10:03 A.M.

Rebekah, to answer your quest. about depth. Angle is one way, the lighting cartainly, as Roger does. I many times cut the flower and place it against a moss covered tree or an old piece of wood, sometimes I even place it in another plant to get competing textures or shapes. The "Slow Turning" collage I did I simply placed the potted plant against the black elevator door at my office, and shot different angles. db

Cedrico Fernandez , August 26, 2007; 04:23 A.M.
