Normally when I scan through a portfolio I like to click on an image that instantly stands out. I can't do that here! You have too many excellent pictures!

Beautiful images! They have some 'cosmic' feeling about them.. Makes me wonder what the earth was like millions of years ago and what it would look like long after we all cease to exist.

Extremlly well done..Keep t up you have a wonderfull technique for slow photography... Those really nice colors are they attained using the 0.9 Graduated filter? If Yes is it of particular color or type? Thx for everthing and for your technical info... Stephen, the colours in the images are in the first instance the result of waiting for the right light. Using Velvia film does add more saturation, particularly the older 50 speed version, but the colour still has to be there in the first place. The graduated filters I use are all colourless. I use both hard, soft and even reverse grads depending on what best suits the lighting and land forms.

A truly brilliant portfolio! I have just bought an Eos 10D and started playing with long exposures on streams, small waterfalls etc. and it is true that, once you have the right equipment, it's not difficult but your portfolio prompts the analogy of the game of chess : anyone can learn the moves in a few minutes but putting it all together to win the game is another matter altogether!.........Superb!

Hello Friend!

Well here it is another year is passing away and we are coming into the holidays. I think time starts to go faster as we get older, it was just yesterday I wished my friends Happy Holidays and here it is again the end of a year. The holiday lights are starting to be put on some of the trees here in Dallas, we were out last night and some were lighting the trees. I wish for you all a holiday season with family and friends, after all is said and done all we have is each other.

I want all of you to know just what your comments and ratings on my work means to me, your words are my motivation, my drive to discover, to learn this art that we all love, thank you for taking time and thank you for caring about my works. At the same time thank you for letting us see your world, our lives are so much the same, we all care about our families and friends and we all share the same things, maybe someday our photos will help make for a lasting world peace. Beautiful portfolio Richard, you really have some outstanding landscape work here. I see you shoot large format with Velvia, I bet those prints are something to see in person. Have to love the colors and saturation you get with Velvia, I know I did in my medium format days. Look forward to seeing more of your work in the future.
