I feel extremely honored to have received all of the wonderful feedback here. I am glad that I have moved people with my art, and they felt compelled to respond... I am extremely passionate about my work here, and borderline total addiction. I get out to shoot as often as I can, usually a couple times per week...but that never seems to be enough. We are given the beauty of nature as a gift for us all to enjoy...and if those moments can live on for myself to reflect on when I am old and grey and unable to make these trips, those days wont be as bad.

You have some excellent photos here but maybe buried among someones not so good. I guess you should try to select only the best so your portfolio is not too big and viewer can concentrate on best ones. I guess you're having fun in posting images as you want so i don't have the right to critize you...only my humble oppinion. Anyway, I have enjoyed your portfolio very much.

Yours is one of the most promising, colorful and interesting portfolio that I found on photo.net. Variety of colors, shades, moods, landscapes can be seen in it. A fine art collection...Will come back to it again.

I like your portfolio. There are few dramatic ones. I think the angle of the lense with respect to the subject made more effective. e.g. your Star, Stream photos. Many are with beautiful light, however rather look simple due to the angle it is shoot at.

Very nice photos. You have a talent for playing with light and colours, Rick. There are almost too many pictures to see - would need a long vacation to go through them all :-) I ask photographers with so many pics - do you have a life besides taking photos? Do they have to surgically remove the camera from your hand? What is your average keepers vs. throw-away ratio? BTW, I see you have a high-end Nikon camera, yet you use Sigma lenses, any special reason why? Cheers, Micheal

Well, Theres nothing wrong with the sharpness of my Sigma lenses. My 70-200 2.8 rivals the sharpness of nearly any lens out there. 5 years ago, Sigma didn't have that great of glass, but they have meade leaps and bounds in some of their models. Plus, if you know how to sharpen correctly, you can still print crisp 24x36 inch images. As far as keepers vs throw aways...I shoot less shots than I did a few years ago, but still go out shooting every weekend. I'd say I still hover around 1 keeper image per every 100 I shoot.

Thanks, Rick, for your answers. I don't have anything against Sigma lenses. I used to own Sigma 105mm EX macro lens (1:1 macro), and I loved it (except for the very slow focus, but who needs it in a macro lens anyway, eh?). I heard some people saying that Sigma stands for "SIGnificant MAlfunction", though I vote for making it stand for "SIGnificant MAgic". Your pictures are certainly beautiful and sharp. I was asking the question because I thought that folks who go for a flagship camera stay with the make even when it comes to their lenses. That's all. Cheers, Micheal

Hello Friend!

Well here it is another year is passing away and we are coming into the holidays. I think time starts to go faster as we get older, it was just yesterday I wished my friends Happy Holidays and here it is again the end of a year. The holiday lights are starting to be put on some of the trees here in Dallas, we were out last night and some were lighting the trees. I wish for you all a holiday season with family and friends, after all is said and done all we have is each other.

I want all of you to know just what your comments and ratings on my work means to me, your words are my motivation, my drive to discover, to learn this art that we all love, thank you for taking time and thank you for caring about my works. At the same time thank you for letting us see your world, our lives are so much the same, we all care about our families and friends and we all share the same things, maybe someday our photos will help make for a lasting world peace.
