Very nice

Dear Tanya, have you seen Wong Kar-Wai's movies 'In the mood for love' and '2046'? I like this films.Your 'sensual lines' and 'pretty in white' reminds me of them.I wish you good light. All the best.

Peter Meade , May 01, 2006; 05:35 A.M.

Hello Tanya, you have a very good eye for composition. I enjoyed looking at your work and I look forward to seeing more.

Very best wishes. Peter

Ramsey Kunkel , May 01, 2006; 12:20 P.M.

Hello Tanya

Thanks so much for checking out my portfolio... and it's so nice to hear words of encouragement! A quick note, I find portrait photography a great challenge, I love people and so to hear this compliment from you is awesome!

I didn't want to take up this space with how I changed your photo, I requested an email address but it didn't come through. Quickly, I used Photoshop CS2, cut the image with the lassoo, changed the background with a radial blur, and that was about it. So much to learn, and I too am a rookie on the computer.

I wanted to say, I'm impressed with your photography, as well as what I see and read in the words you use about yourself and the interaction with others. As I said before, behind the camera what you produce is beautiful, as well as what I see when you are in front is the same.

Thanks for sharing

Tanya Truong , May 02, 2006; 11:27 P.M.

What a motivation...

Thank you everyone for taking your time to check in my portfolio, like i said elsewhere: "Your interest or curiousity alone is enough to keep me motivated to pursue photoghraphy more." Special appreciations go to those who take your extra time to comment on my porfolio and/or photos. As a rule for myself, i would like to pay a visit to your homepage and give comment as well. I am sorry if i have not done so because of my busy schedule lately, and also due to the excitement of making more photos to share with all of you. Again, thanks for your time and your thoughtfulness. Warmly, tanya.

focus mankind , May 03, 2006; 03:49 A.M.

Hi Tanya Thnx for your comments on my portfolio/web.

I really like the white moody series - congrats to that. As stated in the tulip-comments you're new the photography - great start - you got your own style and a good eye - keep on the good work.

Uros Kricka , May 04, 2006; 01:59 A.M.

Tanya...I'm not sure about the novice thing...your photos look as if someone with a great knowledge or a pure talent took them. Keep up the good work

daniele guggiari , May 04, 2006; 03:52 A.M.

brava Tanya, your portfolio is armonious and fascinating.

Tanya Truong , May 04, 2006; 11:23 P.M.

Thank you Uros, that is one of the sweetest comments i've ever heard. I feel flattered (esp. after viewing your beautiful, peaceful landscape porfolio.) For me, photography is rather of a ...pure joy...than anything at all.

Thank you Daniele for stopping by, your porfolio is known by many others and that is very admirable. Like other popular nude photographers in PN, i am amazed at how your models pose for you effortlessly.

Best wishes, tanya.

Eduardo Agustin Carrasco , May 05, 2006; 11:03 A.M.

beautiful gallery, congratulations I like all of your work

Beepy . , May 05, 2006; 07:02 P.M.

I find the Making of Ceramics folder most interesting. The tight cropping works to bring the viewer into the process, the textures, the hands and the shapes all play together nicely.

son tran , May 06, 2006; 06:42 A.M.

Contugralation! Love your work. keep on taking pics.

Neil Peters , May 07, 2006; 11:13 A.M.

your vision is poetry. I am now sure, that not only do you model and photograph, but you also write and sing, if only to yourself. the adventures into compostion with the newer prints are beautiful. you give the impression you are humbly exposing the senuous scenes before you, but with the irrepressable heart of a lover.

Tanya Truong , May 08, 2006; 11:53 A.M.

Dear Neil,

I thought i was reading a lovely poem when i read your lovely, poetic comment. Thanks for seeing my art through the eyes of a poet, you make my work sounds very romantic. I believe somewhere in each of us, there's always a place for romance. Warm regards, tanya.

Theodoros Festsopoulos , May 10, 2006; 08:07 A.M.

Tanya Truong , May 17, 2006; 12:15 A.M.

Thank you all...

for taking your time to view my porfolio and writing comments. As I mentioned in my bio. :"Your comments breath life into my artwork. Your interest in viewing keeps igniting the burning desire of creativity in me.... I feel lucky to be noticed by so many talented photographers in PN. Sometimes, i have to pinch myself to make sure what i am going thruogh is not just a dream....:)

Warm regards,

Tanya Truong , May 17, 2006; 12:24 A.M.

Dear Fran,

I feel "Wow" that you've visited my homepage many times. Your interest adds a huge load of motivation to my pursuit in photography. To answer your question if i come from Vietnam, the answer is half of a "Yes". Sometimes, others ask me if i am from Europe, Middle East, Asia.... Sooooo, i've decided to be a citizen of humanity :-). I have learned to embrace the beauties of all ethnicities, and i feel blessed because i am able to do so.

Thanks for offering to photograph me. Someday, Spain...would be my next destination of traveling....

Warm regards,

tanya :)

Tanya Truong , May 19, 2006; 07:50 A.M.

Thank you for putting a lot of thought into my work Fran. Most of my photographs were captured sometimes over the last year since i got started behind the camera. Of course, there are lot of flaws and i am glad you appreciate them with your heart. It sounds like you will visit Vietnam is September. When one travels with an opened mind, one will enjoy no matter what.

Warm regards,

Thank you for your very kind words. I must say that your portfolio contains many wonderful and powerful images. I love your lighting, ideas and compositions skills. Thank you again for your comments.

David Cassidy , June 02, 2006; 02:59 P.M.

Tanya, thank you

Thank you so much for your kind words. I do feel deeply about all of my creative endeavours and immerse myself in them to the very best of my ability; to some it may seem "obsessive" or "compulsive" or "perfectionist" or a host of other less-than-flattering adjectives, but to me, I'm from the school of thought that if you're going to do something, do it as well as you can.

For me, photography and writing are my two creative passions (I'm avidly trying to finish my second novel, ah, my kingdom for some time!). My sense of humour comes from my sense of the world around me, as I find humour in the human condition ... it doesn't take long to find silliness all around us, be it in politics, relationships, work, and (at the risk of offending some, although that is not my intent), religion. I find there is enough darkness and ill-will in this world that strains the mind and the soul, so why not take a different road and laugh at it all now and then?

Best regards,

- David :)

Marcus Tate , June 02, 2006; 07:19 P.M.

Thanks for your critiques. I feel like a paying member of the MAS (mutual admiration society). Brave? Nothing brave about the capture but when I ate it, that took at little courage. BBQ'd it wasn't that bad. These rats are "special" in that they live away from the cities and feed on rice. So I guess you can call the "clean rats" as opposed to "dirty rats". Thanks again!

Tanya Truong , June 02, 2006; 07:51 P.M.

Your above comment makes me laugh. I tasted it many times in my life when i was younger. You are right about the "clean" rat (feeding on rice) versus the "dirty" rat. As I remember they tasted very gooood :o). To me, it's cool to be a member of the MAS (as you amusingly word it) as long as you know in your heart what/who/why you truely admire. Afterall, we are "social-animals"; we have the need to belong (or maybe just me feeling so:o)), and i don't mind to show my admiration or take a critique from those that i admire :o).

Warm regards,

tanya. Contribute a critique

David Cassidy , June 03, 2006; 08:27 A.M.

Tanya, your words are too kind; I am truly humbled by them. From what I see, you devote as much into your passions as well ... the images you create and capture show a depth of character and creative flair that transcends most. You have a playfulness about your images that is so subtle yet so strong, clearly reflecting your inner self. They show so much of your talent and love for the craft, and it is an honour to be a witness to such wonderful work that you have shared with the world. - David

Ramsey Kunkel , June 03, 2006; 11:29 A.M.

Hey Tanya... Love your "Common marketplace" photos... fresh and lively. Regards, Ramsey

Jim Downs , June 04, 2006; 01:32 A.M.

Emily, Mary and Maggie should be forever grateful for the way you have captured them for posterity. Your Vietnam market images are also well done. Love the dress you're wearing in your bio photo - its fit for a princess!

Tanya Truong , June 04, 2006; 03:10 A.M.

Life is a journey...

so is photography to me. My new passion, i don't know where it will take me to, but i am very thankful to each individual in PN who chooses to accompany me briefly or of long time. Your comments/compliments/critiques/caring are well-appreciated as always :o). Warm regards.

Seven Stuartson , June 08, 2006; 10:59 A.M.

Hi Tanya

Your portfolio seems to have grown since last I was here - and not just in number of images, you seem to be breaking through into a realm where your images are containing more and more motion within them, no easy feat for a still! This is evident especially in the Ceramics, Beaches & Portriats folders. The Vietnam folder is an explosion of colour & vibrancy; all very impressive. Look forward to seeing more. Go well - Seven.

Lawrence Lopez , June 08, 2006; 06:58 P.M.

Tina Forget , June 08, 2006; 09:09 P.M.

Thank you so very much for your wonderful comments on my portfolio. I am genuinely grateful. Your portfolio is really quite extraordinary! You show so much diversity yourself in your work, and it is easy to tell how much you love capturing the beautiful world around you. You certainly have a gift for this, and I am honoured to have viewed your lovely images. All the very best on your journey, and I will visit often. Respectfully, Tina

Joao Pereira , June 09, 2006; 04:05 A.M.

Many thanks for your generous comment to my "shadows" photo. In fact, the photo is the background curtain of the stage during a performance. The two shadows are the effect of the spotlight on her and the projection of the video (larger shadow and birds). Glad you liked it.

I was lucky because your comment brought me to your gallery. Yiou have the "eye" and spark of talent (I thain the ceramics gallery is great). It is obvious that you look well on both sides of the camera.

All the best

D. Munteanu , July 25, 2006; 07:42 A.M.

good collection

Very feminine, soft & subtle view of life, backed up by a responsive and original eye. Thanks for taking the time to comment on a few of my own shots (and yes, the 'id' photo is, indeed, a reference to Freud), best wishes to you.

ps: I noticed that some of your shots recieved ratings that, in my opinion, are a disgrace to those who spit them out - a phenomenon that's beginning to become more and more frequent and obvious, yet something that should never deter us from pursuing photography, in whatever form.

Kellen Sobiech , July 25, 2006; 10:19 A.M.

Tanya, Your Portfolio is amazing, truely inspiring and stands out among the rest on PN. I hope you will stop by my portfolio again!

Hi Tanya,

Thanks for taking the time to comment on some of my images. After viewing your body of work here, I find a great depth in your interpretation of what you wish to convey to the viewer as such. Your self portraits are really not about nudity and I feel that such work gives me an insight into you and your cultural foundations. I do behold your self and its many facets that you have captured here. I hope to see more and I am glad that at least one of my images has inspired you to follow down a track to delve into that fantasy that you have mentioned you would like to discover.

If you are ever in my part of the world it would be an honour to capture you in a setting that perhaps you would relate to a great deal. By the way I do an awsome sushi!

The result of a wonderful being

Tanya, It is incredible what a special being as you can bring to our lives. I enjoy how the expression your paceful and sweet soul reveals in every image you put in your portfolio, a true expression of your inner and outer beauty. I am very glad I have got to know you and your world thru this site and your expressions, but, paradoxically feel a pity and sorry we are so far away... as you say, warmest regards, from Buenos Aires..

Ciao Tanya!...I'm at work in my hospital from 13,30 to 9,00 of tomorrow and now are 0,37. I have spent my holidays in Sardegna, and you? Maurizio Moro , December 15, 2007; 03:42 P.M.

Dear friend, last Saturday night, my wife and I, had a big incident with our car (?head-on collision?), and we are alive for miracle: anyway, these not good moments, become also?good moments!... indeed, in these occasions, we can understand that life is so? breakable, for not being happy every day to awaken, drink a coffee, to smile, to make love and other simple things, to meet people and, why not, to do photographs! For doing these things we don?t need a lot of money and power:?we need only our life and the capacity for surprise of simple things. I have had a big gift, for this Xmas and the New Year,?that is to say,?I?m alive!...and now, I know, I?ll love more life! My dear friend! I wish to you the same thing, namely, the ability to transform the accidents of life in?happiness to live better and to give the proper value to your life and to that of other! ?Merry Xmas and Happy New Year!....Ciaomau!

Just a few general comments from me....First, thanks so much for commenting on my photos. I really appreciate it. I've not been here for a while (first time this year) as I'd lost my way a bit so it was lovely to see your kind comments. Second, I have visited your site many times in the past with a mixture of motives...love the portfolio in general and find some photos quite intriguing and different. So thanks for helping to re-motivate me and thanks for sharing your wonderful work. Alan

Tanya, I stumbled upon you by accident and am glad I got the chance to view your work; you have some very lovely images and you have a great eye and understanding in what you are trying to convey through your photography.

I really like your self-portraits...I have been trying to learn using myself so I know how difficult they are. Yours are very natural which I really like. Keep up the good work. I will be back to look some more! Thanks so much for sharing! :)

Yves Petronin , October 22, 2009; 02:37 P.M.

Magnificent portfolio, remarkable because very diversified. Extraordinary nature and flower pictures, simple and pure. Congrats

Diane Hooper , November 19, 2009; 09:33 P.M.

I am in awe of what I see in your portfolio - especially your nature shots. The Rose and Tulip shots are some of my favorites - but then I love shooting flowers too. After looking and studying your portfolio again, I hope the next time I shoot any flowers, I remember to look at them from all the different angles - and not just try for the "pretty' picture! Thanks for the lessons!
