Hi Tim
I have come here to personally thank you for your having been kind and caring enough as a PN member to have written me a comment. Your portfolio is still small but shows how passionate you are and testifies your having certain photographic skills and knowledge. keep expanding your portfolio and be confident that it will
get a good rank.
About your request: Can you imagine how much color this shot displays in the original shot? practically nothing. As you see, there was overcast, so the only color there was was that of the little bit of the sky seen where the cloud was broken, so it was nearly a black and white from the word go.
Matt Benson , February 22, 2007; 05:40 P.M.
Thanks:-)
I wanted to thank you for you comments on my photo/portfolio. Your work has strong aesthetic appeal and shows great compositional framing. Very nice work! I look forward to seeing more from you in the future.

Hi Tim -- I saw your topic in the forums and thought I'd stop in to see why you feel stuck. The images you've posted are clean and nicely composed. A print is usually percieved as a metaphor so I really like the mood in several of the shots. Best advise is to keep shooting and take some risks. If you're shooting film, buy a brick and shoot at least 2 rolls a day for a week. Be spontaneous, shoot things that attract your attention, and convey your feeling about the subject. Don't take the ratings on this site to heart.
Best Regards, John

I like your creativity. I chucked at the taco bell and the dog. I also admire your curiosity to really get into what you are doing and try to give the viewers a different perspective of everyday things. You definatly have a skill and a good eye. Keep on doing what you are doing, because it only gets better.

Tim-- I want to thank you for the kind words you've spoken about me in the forums. Your appreciation means a lot to me. Please know that I also get a lot out of giving you my impressions, looking carefully at your interesting work, and seeing what you come up with image after image. Generally, the level of discourse in the forums can be less than stellar, as so many people seem just to want to get their hostilities out in the relatively anonymous theater of internet communication. It's hard to say a word without getting jumped by someone, so it was bold of you to attempt a thoughtful and, in my mind, worthwhile and good suggestion. Don't count on it getting picked up by the administration. In any case, as long as we continue some dialogue about each others' photos, I'm content. Thanks again! --Fred

I really like all of your images. You have a very eclectic and interesting collection of shots. Your airshow images are just first rate. I notice that we both use the Evolt, aren't they a great camera. I've had mine about a year and a half and I'm just now starting to figure out how powerful it is. Keep up the great work, Tim. Cheers! Thanks again Chris, I've had my OLY for about the same amount of time and I love it as well, there are sooo many features on this camera, it will take me a while to master it. My only regret is that the EVOLT-510 just came out.......so I've been eyeballing that one........we'll see. Anyway, thanks again for the encouraging comments.

Hello Friend!
Well here it is another year is passing away and we are coming into the holidays. I think time starts to go faster as we get older, it was just yesterday I wished my friends Happy Holidays and here it is again the end of a year. The holiday lights are starting to be put on some of the trees here in Dallas, we were out last night and some were lighting the trees. I wish for you all a holiday season with family and friends, after all is said and done all we have is each other.
I want all of you to know just what your comments and ratings on my work means to me, your words are my motivation, my drive to discover, to learn this art that we all love, thank you for taking time and thank you for caring about my works. At the same time thank you for letting us see your world, our lives are so much the same, we all care about our families and friends and we all share the same things, maybe someday our photos will help make for a lasting world peace. May you and your family be blessed this season.
Happy Holidays and Happy Shooting

Tim, not sure how I found this portfolio ...
... but two things. First, I love your shots, especially the World Without Color folder, which I find very strong. Second, it is clear from your work why you would choose to quote Gandhi in your personal web page. Those sentiments are hard to visualize, but somehow your portfolio does so. You have my admiration.

Rules,Rules and rules.
Hello Tim, those words should ring a bell. You have indeed a very exciting portfolio. I was struck by your excellent black and white images of flowers. But you know what was most obvious in your work. You yourself have followed the classic rules and these are evident in your best images. Were you aware of that ?Mmmm, what do I make of your comment about rules. My philosophy about rules is this. Learn the rules than go all out and break the rules. Only when you have a good understanding of what you are doing can you break the rules. Think of it this way before you can become a racing car driver you must first learn to drive the car. Cheers my friend.
Tim Zeipekis
, May 18, 2008; 02:01 P.M.
Thank you!
Touche, kind sir! :) But one should not forsake the act nor the individuality in the pursuit of rules. The last thing I think about when taking a photo is whether or not it abides, but just the joy I feel when I push the shutter. I do thank you for for the kind remarks, and your honesty. This website suffers from a great shortage of it.

Comments instead of compliments. Please!
I just, after a very long pause, entered the forum and came here.
Since I am a guy who very seldom offers compliments, I will be abrasive.
I looked through the mish mash of the images posted here and the "comments" published and will address two issues:
1. I suggests you work on well defined subject matter and prepare thematically focused portfolio.
2. For the viewers: instead of real comments (meaning critical evaluations of the photographs) we have a cornucopia of mutual compliments. Quite useless - no one learns anything from such exchange of words.
