Hi Tony, I'm a real fan of the surreal appearance of infrared photography and I'm deeply impressed with your work. I would like you explain me the procedure you use since you have the red infrared image obtained shooting with a D SLR through a R72 infrared filter. Especially I love your two-tone images (How do you get that???), like "Infrared Part III", ﾓCastle in Arcen IRﾓ, ﾓDestination Fantasy World IR", " Care for a rideﾔ, ﾓIRﾔ and others.

Tony, you've got SO MANY fine shots here, but I especially want to say something about your Castles folder. Wow! When I see these shots I think, "Gee, I'm pretty sure I'm not living well enough! lol ... ah, the days of castles, how romantic and nostalgic. Your IR/Castle shots zijn buitengewoon (hope that's spelled correctly).

Well... to talk about Tony is something like I have to talk about the history of Art to someone from planet Mars, in less than 1 hour... And this of course is impossible... But I will try...

I am in this site about 3 weeks. Starting from the middle of March, of 2005. When I registered, I found a new world of images, of pictures, of emotions in all this wonderful place. I found a vision... something that was new for my eyes. I found also people warm and nice, that captured all these emotions in their eyes first, in their hearts secondly and presented them to all of us, in this community. And my journey was going on, like a ship sailing smoothly in the open seas. I saw many great artists here, and without even understand my hand started to save all these lovely photos in my PC, to view them later in the night, alone here in my office. Many times I was using these photos as a "wallpaper" for my PC, to rest my eyes on it.

Until one day... that I found a MASTER in this ocean of art...

My eyes were captured by his colors, by his compositions, by his amazing images of life (because it will be UNHOLY to call his work just "photos"...) His work is a hymn to the nature and to the God's creation. This person had a name... "Tony Georgiadis". The first thing I didn't like to Tony was his....name !!! This "Tony" I found it so "small" for him... Looking his work here, staying speachless.... I wanted the most Majestic name...for an artist like him... This "Tony" name, was sitting in my neck... not easy to spell it... All this beauty in these images could not be included in such a "Tony"... I was torturing my self, try to imagine how a "Tony" can present such a work...can capture in some inches on the screen so many feelings, emotions, colors and be named..."Tony" !!!! but the answer to me came after some days...

I had written to him, to congratulate him for his work...I really felt like a small "ant", like an insect, comparing my poor "photos" with his masterpieces... And I was expecting a short, fast email answer as others who had replied to my kind regards. But what I got was a letter from a person with a heart even bigger than his wonderful skies he paints. We exchanged emails some days, and I discovered that this man, does not need a pompous name, does not need to be named "Antony the Great" or something like this. His soul and his manners were both so "majestic" that they were speaking for his character more than any "big name" or anything like this... He helped me with my questions, he shared with me his thoughts about photography, he opened his heart to me, and after 4 emails of him, I knew why a TRUE MASTER can be named only with a "small" Tony... And when we talked with him in phone, some hours before, when he called me, to congratulate me like a good father about a nice photo of me, I felt PROUD so much in my life to speak with a human like him...

Tony, my good friend...I will not talk about your work... For someone not to estimate it, must be a blind, or plain ignorant, or simply jelous... I wanted to declare to all the people of this community... that I am really proud to have met YOU and your ART, and that you will be one of the reasons to keep me in this site and in the world of photography.

HeY! Just looked over your photos, and I think it's hard when you have so many of theme, I cant really get an overview. Some of tha picture are just great, and some of theme I cant understand why you put theme out here. I think a clearing of photos would be good for you, and make shure you just keep the really good one, cause you have a lot of theme! Otherwise I especialy lika your bride who is eating ice-cream , it's so funny!

Tony, My friend, few portfolios on Photo Net are in your league. There are many great singular images on PN, that I view as Masterpieces..... No one has close to as many as you. As one who is inspired by your talent, let me thank you for sharing it on PN.....Jim

Good Day Tony, I think your work is GREAT your IR is just out of this world. I am new very new to IR Photography. This is my first attempt.

Aperture f2.8 Shutter 1.0sec. ISO 250 also used a 58mm Hoya R72 filter 950nb

I also took some liberty in Picasa 2.

The picture(s) look grainy to me so i'm sure they will look bad to you, I was looking for some feed back, if interested there are two more in my folder.

just 3 things.. 1) you have a good eye (in my H.O.), 2) you need a camera, 3) I think you put too much images in your portfolio. Try to make a selection of your pictures or your best images will sink in this vast ocean. Best regards from Spain..

Hello everybody ive got a sad message for you all. Iam a acquaintance of Tony, a worked with Tony for some time, thats how i met him. After that we saw each other from time to time.

A few months ago Tony died........ I went to his funeral his camera was with him on top of the coffin during the service, and they projected a lot of his pictures, its was verry emotional. I keep comming overhere to enjoy his beautiful pictures, and read the comments on it. After the comment of Ranjith Pallegama at August 09, 2009 a thought it was time to react. I hope Photo.net keeps his album FOREVER on line because Tony earned this!

Tony i will never forget you.

I am terribly shocked to hear although I was worried of his absence I neverexpect to hear the worst.

Tony was a great photographer to me. I learnt photography (especially IR) from him. He entertained his fans around the world. PN community is going to miss him.
