Yuri, I hope this comment doesn't get lost in a sea of compliments. I have perused many photo.net folders, and I have come across some great ones. Your folder is absolutely amazing, honestly. Many photographers can look at a photo and think "I could do that", and I'll admit I'm guilty of doing that from time to time. I *know*, however, that I could not replicate the photos you have. The quality of your images is something mine should aspire to. Your creative eye demonstrates, to me at least, that there are some poeple that just seem to be born to take pictures. This is probably the most diverse portfolio I have seen to date. Brilliant eye for detail and aesthetics. I love your people folder. I have been shooting photographs too for about three years and have always felt something lacking in my portfolio. I realise now that it is the lack of shooting people candidly, in a studio or in an elobarately planned setup. You excell in all these areas. I am happy I finally spent the time on your truly excellent portfolio. In some years from now, I hope to think I learnt something from Yuri to take my photographs one modest level higher from where they are now. Thanks for sharing.

Revenge Rating
Examples such as this, http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=2856386...(3/3) (and few others), does nothing to alieviate the problems mentioned in your image http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=2847743. Those are sound reasons in my view and was gracious enough to offer you help on this. Revenge rating my pics will not make my pics ugly, and certainly will not make yours beautiful. All this does is show your lack of objectivity towards art in general.
I certainly hope in the future you can contribute something positive for this community beyond your self serving interests, in the form of constructive critques that help others or at minimum a subscription. Thanks Yuri.

A great portfolio, truly. What amazes me the most is not so much what many others have said about your control over light, colors, composition, etc. Certainly, those are vital skills which you unquestionably have in abundance.
But what amazed me the most was how you manage to take the same image, manipulate in PS, change colors, textures, and so on and produce a result that is completely different from the original. In a nutshell, you manage to create two individual images out of the same photograph. That is what amazes me the most out of your portfolio.

Candy coated oversaturated
some of the photos are well composed and interesting, but most are way too saturated and manipulated, like they are meant to be pleasing to the postcard crowd. lighten up on the contrast and saturation levels, and concentrate more on the street shots, those are by far the most interesting.

However, I think the heavily manipulated shots (which I believe are obvious to us BTW) should be labelled as such.
