Andrew, I was browsing through the critique forum and noticed your landscapes, and rather than comment on each individual photo i thought it would be easier to commend you on your exceptional portfolio here. Well Done and look forward to seeing more in the future!

Nice shots, Andrew. You do an especially good job on your night photos.
Octavia Ross , June 29, 2007; 11:45 A.M.
What a lovely presentation. You have some really excellent shots--skies, waterfalls, animals. I wish you would organize your work into folders which would make your portfolio flow. It's all beautiful though. I really enjoyed looking through. I think my favorite is the one of the sleeping bear. :) See you around the forums.

Andrew, this is really a wonderful, eclectic collection of images you have developed here. I particularly like your New York City 'cityscape' series; and especially the night B&W shots. You've got a ton of talent and a great eye for interesting compositions and subjects. Keep up the great work, my friend. I look forward to seeing your work here. Cheers! Chris

Hey, Andy, you can count on me to contact you the next time I'm planning to be out in your neck of the woods. I do get to travel a lot, and I would really like to hook up with you for some shooting in and around the Big Apple. I am also sort of planning a trip in the next year or two to Acadia NP in Maine. Also, I've got a close friend who's retiring soon and moving to Vermont, so I see some fall colors trips in my future. Keep up the great work, your latest offerings are nothing short of brilliant. Cheers! Chris

Hello:
I found your comments! Some fun stuff here. You are a real nighthawk aren't you? I didn't look at everything, but really liked windows. You seem to have a pretty good grasp of how an image should look on a monitor and post processing for a beginner. I got a digital camera last autumn, so I am in a similar situation. I know you are impatient to improve but the more you progress, the smaller the increments become.

Fantastic!
Wow! Wow! and Wow! The reorganization really showcase your superb work, Andy! I love the folder arrangements. Going through this portfolio again really reinforces my admiration of your skills with the camera. This is really excellent, high quality work. You are one heck of a great architectural photographer. You really know how to make NYC shine! Keep up the great work, Andy! I totally can appreciate the amount of work you put into reoganizing this; it looks great! Hey, time for you and your wife to come out west and visit my wife and I. We need to get you out in the western landscapes too. Cheers! Your Friend, Chris

Excellent job of sprucing up the portfolio. Scrolling through was a pleasure.
Thanks for the compliment on my portfolio. I did not make myself clear on one point. I am not a beginning photographer. What I am new to is digital photography and all that goes with it. I cannot in good conscience claim to be a fast learner.
As a beginner, I have been spending a lot of time cleaning up various errors in my portfolio. I am nearly done, and will soon have time to critique or whatever, I hope. In the meantime, shooting comes first. Good afternoon.

I, too, am an admirer of your night shots of the city. Have you ever done any extended-exposure shots of lightning? Just wondering, because I've always wanted to do something like that at night, with all the city lights in the foreground. Great job!

Very nice!
Thanks for your comment on my "Lincoln memorial at Night", I appreciate it! It was all evening, I just need to burn in the memorial a little more. Your portfolio is excellent! I definitely enjoy and appreciate your DC night shots. Also, I especially like the "Spooky Scenes"... I'm doing a little project on an abandoned farm near my house with a similar theme in mind. Again, overall outstanding and thanks! Cheers, Allan

After seeing one of your NYC photos up for critique, I had to check out your portfolio. It's GREAT!! In your bio, I think you underestimate your talent. These are really extraordinary shots! I particularly love the 'Chrysler Bldg'(B&W) and your Twilight view of Manhattan from CP. I've been to NYC many times, and you just totally capture it!! Bravo! And how nice that your wife shares your hobby. My husband and I have also recently started sharing this wonderful hobby, and we travel a lot. So I hope to post more photos soon. Keep up the beautiful work!

We seem to be diametrically opposed in our views of NYC. Your pictures tend to be more formal and artistic, where mine are more about the moment and a "wow, look over there" dynamic approach. There's certainly room for both. The only overlap I caught is that we both had a picture of what might be the same sketch artist in Central Park.
A photo meetup group recently had a session at Hamilton Park, but it was on a Saturday afternoon/evening where it had been raining for several hours in the West Village, so I didn't go. Judging by your photos there, it looks like a place I'll have to visit another day.
