You have a real skill for macro photos. I notice that with one exception, they are all organic. Have you considered doing industrial or inorganic macro photos? -b

Albert Darmali , December 05, 2004; 01:31 A.M.

Thanks for the compliment ! As why most (if not all) my macro shots are organic subjects... Well, that's a good question !

Yeah, I think when I think of macro, what comes to mind are either flowers or insects. Maybe next time I will try some other "dead" objects :) The problem is I can't find objects interesting enough at home to do macro. On my next photography excursion, I will try to find some other macro objects and see if i can get nice ones, I'll add it in my gallery.

Thanks !

Charlotte Aberg , December 07, 2004; 05:57 A.M.

good stuff! i prefer your more abstract work - more please!

Albert Darmali , December 07, 2004; 06:05 A.M.

Thank you for your nice comment Charlotte. Those abstracts picture were made when I was bored at home and got nothing else to do. So the next time I got bored again, hopefully I can come up with some more pictures ! :)

Albert.

Carlo Ottaviano Casana , January 17, 2005; 03:16 A.M.

I'm not keen on abstract photos, but I must say that yours are really beautiful! Hope you'll get bored soon ;-).

Thanks for your comment. Its a really nice one!!!

Albert Darmali , January 28, 2005; 09:56 A.M.

Carlo, it's funny, when you said "hope you'll get bored soon", I was thinking... "what the heck was that supposed to mean?" Then I just realised that I usually take indoor/still life pictures when I get bored... I forgot that I mentioned that earlier... Silly me. :)

Albert.

Rebecca Cornell , January 31, 2005; 09:26 A.M.

hey...you commented on one of my pictures (the pear and the leaf)...i found your advice really helpful. The bottom was not actually cloth, but butcher type paper and the lighting was from lamps. It was really just a make-shift type studio in a classroom. But i like the idea of using natural light and trying the shot horizontally. so..thanks!! and i love love your abstract pictures...keep up with that.

Francesco Tonini , February 07, 2005; 06:16 A.M.

Your portfolio is amazing, i love it.

Albert Darmali , February 12, 2005; 07:12 P.M.

Lila,

Funny you mentioned that, because street/urban photography is something that I really wanna try, but always get discouraged.

Some people on the streets don't really like having their pictures taken candidly, and I am quite reluctant to ask as well..

But I might give it a go someday. black & white street photography sounds so interesting !

Albert,

Stellar portfolio! In this rare instance, I had the pleasurable task of trying to pick only a few to rate, they are all so very, very good. Nonetheless, with diligence and determination, I was finally able to ferret a couple of favorites out of a veritable field of winners!

Hi Albert, Thank for taking the time to comment on my Pumpkins. I was in a pumpkin patch when I took the photo and by the time I had the photo framed the way I wanted it the sun had gone behind the clouds. So lighting wise the photos I took that day look kind of flat. I tried to boost levels to make the front pumpkin pop. Which I thought worked as is but I will have to try your suggestion. Thanks again. Your portfolio is amazing...I especially like the corkscrew as an "Angel".

Albinas Balzekas , March 31, 2006; 06:21 P.M.

Albert

Albert...I am truly amazed at this gallery. I enjoyed looking through your images. As somebody who is just getting interested in still lifes and trying to dream up ideas to attempt to duplicate in a studio, this portfolio is very inspirational.

I can only hope that I will be able to produce such quality, and creativity in my own work. This is truly one of my favorite portfolios that I've seen on PN. I look forward to seeing more.

Cheers Justin

Thank You Albert

The comment on my photo of Michelle really hit home. It brought me back to why I shoot. It is what you/I see through the lens that gives you/me wonder. A split second and half of the thousand words are consumed. Thank you Albert.

Hi Albert!

Very nice Portfolio! I like your photos, good images, great colours. I like a lot also your macro photos! Wich macro lenses do you use usually? Congratulations for your work! Bye

Albert Darmali , May 25, 2009; 05:14 A.M.

Hello Attilio! Glad that you liked the pictures. Most of my macros were either done with my P&S or Tamron 90mm f/2.8. But I think most of them were with my P&S.
