I thought my English was, let's say decent...

But I now see that I didn't exactly understand what the word "beginner" meant. Perhaps it is not a matter of language at all. I presume it must be more a matter of life attitudes. Anyway, if you have some hesitations, questions, problems etc, as a beginner, feel absolutely free to ask for solving the matter. Not that I think you couldn't solve any problem all by yourself. Asking questions and getting answers is the quicker way! Experience is speaking now!
Come to see me some time!

Brett -
Don't sweat the 'beginner' stuff. The FinePix does an amazing job for a fixed-lens digital. I had a little 2.1mp Casio for a number of years before taking the plunge with the Rebel XT.
Good stuff here - play with the camera, experiment with composition. Ask questions, seek feedback and don't put TOO much stock in the whole 'ratings' thing.

Thank You for your appreciation of my sunset photo.
Among your works I was especially interested with pictures of lightnings. As to me, uncroped original of photo "Strike Two" have more natural colors.

Hi Brett; I took a look at your portfolio. You've done some good stuff. As for "3"s I think that ratings given in Photo.net are subject to the old bell curve to some degree just like everything else. Keep on shooting, it's a good hobby and you have some talent.

Good Portfolio :)
Thank you for your kind comment on my picture. The one third rule is easy to be followed with a camera, who has this option in the display

Anyway. I like your portfolio, you have a great eye! Regards, Dobroslava

Great Portfolio
Thank you for rating my picture, I like you wonder about the "3", but the one that was rated the lowest won 2nd place in a photography contest. I am a beginner too, so don't give up, your pictures are beautiful & full of color. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Brett,
You've got some nice pictures here.
I agree on the crazy rating system. The "three" man is alwasy there, how hard you try, it doesn't matter.
Thank you for your nice comments. I still work analog, so I'll try to answer your question on the HDR or exposion. The light was just flattering, and the clouds were actualla quite dark minimizing contrast. I have only slightly lightened the foreground with PS and added some contrast in the clouds, both with curves.
regards,
Camillo
