Very nice

I really like what you do with simple compositions and bold yet tasteful use of color. The bird shots are great, but I also like the more abstract images. Well done! EO

Impressive

I've looked through all your images here and they are all quite extraordinary. You are definitely too humble in your bio. Excellent work. I love your 'paintings'. Keep doing what you do.

touched..

...what can I say. Stupid words! Now and than I do watch unique stuff here on PN. Amazing! Incredible! However, here (!) in your countryside.. I was toutched! You did touch me Christopher! Backroads, montage.. what not?! just modest jewels! Modest, they stand longuer. Seeing your eyes.. expression.. beard.. just don't paint that red, dear brother van Gogh! Oh.., what will you enjoy the colors in the Heaven(s)! What would you think, he.., van Gogh is doing now ?! Painting? Shooting? Why not! A grown person out of Zeist (Netherlands) was in Heaven like forinstance Paul, yes, the Paul. After that adventure the Zeist-brother told..: "I can't get used to the colors on earth again. I even don't like them anymore!" Haha.. about being touched. Yes I'm serious, but I would love to see your reaction now. With respect, Olaf.

Art

Christopher, I love YOUR backroad photos and continue to admire and be inspired by your work. You are an artist who uses photography as your medium and PS as your brushes to create art. You are way too modest. Cheers. Denise

Alfredo Machado , January 26, 2008; 05:53 P.M.

I very much enjoyed viewing this portfolio, you have an uncanny sense of color and composition. Your color palette reminds me of that of the French impresionists doing provence. Alfredo

Deare Christopher

Thank you for commenting on my photo 'Kang village'. As you suggested, I submitted another photo with the same subject 640*480. You can find it in 'Architecture' folder anyway. I hope you pay another visit and leave your kind comment. At the same time, it gave me a great chance to know you and your beautiful bunch of artistic work, which is really tauching me. You are a great, colorful photgrapher and I wish you a colorful life as well. Congratulations.

Fred Mueller , February 06, 2008; 10:24 P.M.

great work!!

Hey Christopher....nice stuff....I really really like the "fixer upper".....it looks like my idea of peace and quiet....

I got into a kick of trying to make photos look like watercolors with CS3 last fall....here is a link to a folder on my modest photo.net page.....where I put three "watercolors".....

http://photo.net/photodb/folder?folder_id=788192

I can never quite believe how many photos some people here produce.....and on the fan boy sites (dpreview etc.) I can never quite believe how hung up people get on resolution and noise and that sort of thing, as if the absence there of is necessary for an acceptable shot.....in fact literal rendition doesn't often do much for me at all...so I really appreciate what you are doing...

Where I'm concerned, these pictures of yours stir emotions & feeling. I think it's an excellent body of work & I'll look forward to more. I hope you don't take offense at this, but these pictures of yours remind me of the illustrations I used to see in books when I was a kid, back when people used to take the time.

anonymous one , February 27, 2008; 12:40 A.M.

Thanks for commenting on my photo Chris, I know I had seen one of your photo paintings before but after reviewing all your work I have to say, HOLY CRAP! Unbelievable work man, you've done an amazing job salvaging your "breathingtakingly dull and out-of-focus" photos. Kudos on the creativity.

John Galyon , March 03, 2008; 08:26 P.M.

Christopher, It's always a good experience to visit your portfolio. Your rural backroads series (my favorite) is nothing less than splendid! Looking forward to more of your fine photographs. John

Laure Montandon , June 06, 2008; 04:08 P.M.

Chris, thanks for taking time to comment on my work, I always appreciate it. I just spent some time browsing your portfolio. Very original! I don't know how "mediocre" the original pictures were but your photoshop skills are definitely creating some wonderful pictures. Thanks for sharing.

Eric Kaufman , June 07, 2008; 09:57 A.M.

Christopher:

Thanks for the detailed critique of "Into the blue distance". After reading your bio and checking out the portfolio, I would venture a guess that your "mediocre bird photos" did not suffer so much from lack of skill on your part but rather from the fact that your mind's eye was able to envision something far superior to what "was there". What difference does it make (or should I say "what does it 'matter'") if you paint with molecules or electrons? art is art and art is what I see here.

Diego Ravalico , June 20, 2008; 11:32 A.M.

Amazing!

A strange, beautiful, unusual, excellent portfolio. Great great work! Congrats

Ron Jones , June 20, 2008; 01:22 P.M.

I absolutely love your style and blending techniques. Is there a book or artist that gives you inspiration or shares the techniques you 've mastered so well?

Rick Du Boisson , July 01, 2008; 10:37 P.M.

Hi Christopher,

Your comments on my "mad cow" picture brought me to your gallery (this is what I love about PN). I think you undersell yourself! - behind your creations is a special ability at the shot taking stage with great composition and technical skill. The PS transformations into a work of art is truly remarkable and I enjoyed browsing through your gallery - if I had to pick a favorite (its difficult!), I am much taken with "Row of Haycamp Oak". Cheers! RickDB

David Meyer , August 23, 2008; 10:27 A.M.

R Christopher

Thank god I didn't take your word for it in reading your very clever bio, because I hate bird pics. Oh, I'll admit you do them as well and even better than most, but they still don't interest me. Hey, what can I say? But the rest of this stuff, looks like a buffet laid out for a hungry man, and I can see I'll have to grudgingly come back, since they only give you a small plate at this cheap diner. So I will. Come back that is.

Susan Wolfe , August 25, 2008; 09:57 A.M.

Oh, great! You've introduced me to a whole new aspect of photography and post processing that I will have/get to explore. So much to learn, so little time. Seriously, thank you for sharing these. They are wonderful and solidify for me the tie between photography and art.

Alex Marlot , September 11, 2008; 02:43 A.M.

very nice use of color.

Ron Jones , October 22, 2008; 04:33 P.M.

Wow, talk about a good eye. My friend, I bow before you. How do you render such rich texture and colors into your work? I'll end up studying your images for hours. Any help you can give me would really be appreciated. Ron

Victoria Hwesome , October 22, 2008; 08:07 P.M.

Chris, Thank you for your beautiful analysis and comments on my shot "Waves of Blue." I was very touched by your comparisons. This is the first time I have had the honor of visiting your site and I must say it is beautiful. How do you create those images? Your use of color and light; your textures; your combinations of images are all superb. I will be back to take this in more and more. I am just beginning to use photshop and can only hope to acheive some of these feelings in the future. -- Charles

Eye of the Beholder

Thanks for the comment on my green car. You have very good art processing. I like it.

It is odd that people will rate highly a photo that copies Ansel Adams or Galen Rowell over and over, but can't seem to relate to one that is made to look like Vermeer. Oh well, keep it up!

Trisha Jean-Angela , March 23, 2010; 10:33 P.M.

Your work is AMAZING! You are very creative, imaginative, and talented to say the least! I have visited your work many times but for some reason never left a comment and so I am doing so now. I will return for there is so much beauty to take in I can't possibly do it all at once! Great work, thank you so much for sharing it with us! :)

Ajay Ramakrishnan , October 11, 2012; 06:47 A.M.

Hi Christopher!
This is one of the outstanding portfolios on PN. You've elevated your photographs to another realm with your PS mastery. As I commented on the first picture that caught my attention, your birds remind me of those great paintings by Audubon. I realise I need to spend more time on the pictures, to enjoy them one by one. Wonderful. I really admire your creative work. Best wishes. Ajay.

paul roberts , September 15, 2014; 07:35 A.M.

Dear Christopher
I'm not a great fan of digitally manipulated photography..... but your pictures prove how wrong I can be........ your style is your own... so hard in this day and age...... you have inspired me as I'm sure you've inspired others
Very best Paul
