It seems like reality uses your camera as a stamp pad. Each one of your images is a heavy impregnation of nature in an image. How do you get reality to stick so hard and so beautiful to your camera? (Gosh, I wish you would be willing to share some of the details of the equipment and techniques you use). I wonder how much of your work is PS and how much is the skill to capture.

Beautiful portfolio Simon, An overall excellent mix from Scotland and the various sea stack shots from the Orkney really caught my eye. Scotland is one of my favorite places for photography, unfortunately the weather hasn't been good when I have been there (I need a camper van). I like the blue Orkney series very much, consistent coloring is very pleasing throughout, just right for an understatement. It also fits for the climate and subject matter too. Congratulations! Simon, I would like to comment on every one of your photos but to be frank... I can't be bothered. When I look at your portfolio all of the thumbnail images appear to be over saturated and fake. However, when I zoom into each one all the tones suddenly appear very rich, earthy, and natural. Great portfolio.

I think this is one of the best portfolio on Photo.net: the quality, composition, light, technique behind your shots are outstanding. I really enjoy your Scottish landscapes and I love the wonderful light you was able to fix on your photos: it gives a sense of movement to your subjects. It's a nature alive, although several shots were taken under difficult ambient conditions. You are a great light-seeker and a great explorer, too.
