Wonderful

Hi John. Thanks for visiting my site. You have a wonderful theory behind your photography...save the bells and whistles, just straight-ahead photos with personality. Thanks for sharing.

NICE LIGHTING

THE PICTURES OF YOUR CHILDREN ARE VERY GOOD, AND THE SOFT LIGHTING ADDS MUCH TO THE ATMOSPHERE.

John,

You have quite a talent for capturing the essence of light and motion. I am so impressed with all of your photos.

Thanks for sharing! I'd love to try and emulate your work.

Appreciate your comment on my photo John. Very interesting and enjoyable gallery you have and a few shots that are downright...bizarre!

I have a Fujica 35 Compact that I bought at a PX in 1970. I really didn't know what I had & was jealous of my friends who owned SLRs. Well, my Fujica finally crapped out so I bought that Retina. Back to the rangefinder for a while. I appreciate your work John. Nice going. Just goes to show you don't need an expensive digital to make good pictures. Maybe I can pick up another Fujica Compact 35 some day.

You have some really amazing images here. The ones with the spinning will are trully great shots ... technically speaking. The ones with the masks are very original ideas ... work more on those, try to link them ... give them titles. Some portraits are also very well done. You really have an eye for photography.

Congrats and regards.

Hi John. i just stumbled in and was drawn deeper by your Holga series. Like the way you see with that camera, the individual really begins to emerge. Meatyard maybe, but you seem to be putting your own stamp on the style. Perhaps less ethereal and more direct. I am curious if the holga is new work or is the series over a longer time period.? Very good technically for a holga. Delray - very nice exposure.

Thanks to all for your comments.

Josh, I bought my Holga about a year ago and use it whenever I can. Until I got this camera, I had never used any toy cameras before. Lately, I've been finding out the hard way what its limitations are. The Holga is not of much use to me indoors, or with low light photography unless the shutter is held open. I just received a Holga cable release in the mail from Hong Kong. I'm looking forward to using it soon. Hopefully, I will be posting some new Holga stuff before the end of the year. Thanks for your comment.

Amazing! Amazing!

John a million thanks for your comments on the photo of the hand with the chalk. I admire the level of artistic vision that you display on these images which validate your suggestions indeed. Congratulations on a very fine collection of images.

Hi John.Thank you for visiting and support. You realy have done very interesting work here.I like your portfolio very much. On your comment{03-02-07}on my picture APPLE 1,you wanderd how I have done it. I can tell you this is astraight shot on black and white film HP5 PLUS 400 rated 320 ISO.The film was developed in KODAK D23 developer diluted 1:3 at 20*C for 13minutes.As you can see in my portfolio I am a black and white man and a fan of the old classic procedurs of B-W darkroom. best regards.

Rembrandt is great, I'm only an amateur, but thank you very much for your comment. I like your photos, musicians portraits are very very nice. Best wishes, JC.

Thanks

for the kind comment on my portfolio, John. I haven't tried the outdated colour film yet, but i will when i stumble across some of it. I like your fujica folder, nice tones and pretty cool ferris wheels. Take care, j

I like your definition "semi-frequent serious amateur photographer". I love your Fujica film shots, I will spend some time with some of them. Thank you for your comment and, for your information, you should explore the Canon family because, even though I am a Nikon fan, I must admit they are very advanced right now. The Canon 5D is probably the best camera you can find in the market right now. Antonio

Hi John. Any luck on the Barnes & Noble deal? I hope you are still shooting. I stopped by to refresh my memory on your memorable holga work. You produce some real eye openers. I hope to see you around.
