Insightful....
Joeseph, Thank your for viewing my photos! I find your comment about the over processing very thought provoking. You are correct !! Viewing many images on PN I realize how many are "digitized" for enhancement. I do very little post production. (lLOL... I don't know PS that well!) I enjoyed viewing your images as well. The stories have some very creative images! I'll be back to see your work! Thanks again, Doug

Wonderful collection!
Thank you for your encouraging words about my portfolio, Joseph. It's great that you have your sight restored and are able to use the gift for photography that's so evident in your body of work. I have a request - can you make at least some of your photos available LARGER? There's so much detail that can't be appreciated in the small size.

Hello Joseph,
Thank you for your recent comments on my photograph "Confrontation". They are most encouraging and appreciated. Your comments have led me to your portfolio which is most impressive and I enjoyed it very much. Your enthusiam for your photography really shines through. Like you, I am a newcomer to digital photography and while I have always enjoyed taking nice photos it has only developed into a more serious hobby since I have retired. I enjoy this site and am learning heaps from people like yourself who take the time to provide comments and encouragement. Kind regards, Neville H.

Well Hello Mr Popper,
I must say thanks for the several kind comments that you left on my portfolio as well as thanks for taking the time to stop and look at so many of the posted images. I had a chance to look at your portfolio today and I must say that I am very impressed with several of your images. What first struck me is that in your portraitis you seem to capture not just the individual but the aura and emotion that encompass them. Your subjects all seem very comfortable and enjoying themselves throughout several of your images.
I also liked several of the shots posted in your Things category. My favorite is the image titled Mechanical Nightmare as it really catches the viewers eye and makes you want to look more. I also liked the images that look like glass work, possibly a pearlescent vase and a Dark Blue Pitcher as they have very beautiful color and lines. So you seem to be off to a good start. Best of Luck and Best wishes! Katherine

Beautiful portfolio - can't believe that I am only just getting to see it. Hope your eyes are on the mend.
Update: 4 Oct 2007 - I have had a chance to revisit your brilliant portfolio. I think the photos you take and present here to us at PN reveals something about your personality and the way you see the world. I may be off base, but what I am 'seeing' is very positive. In many of your portraits , there is a delicate light that paints the subject and is visually appealing. Congrats.

Hello again Joseph, Thank you very much for your kind and encouraging comments on my recent photo, "Walkin & Waggin'". They were very much appreciated. I have always admired very good B&W photographs and have only recently attempted a few myself. There is something indefineable in the way they seem to communicate and amplify the natural atmosphere of the composition. I have revisited your portfolio several times and see it growing with the addition of many excellent photographs which I continue to enjoy and learn from. Kind regards, Neville H.

I had not noticed before that I have made no comments on your portfolio. Well, it's not like you need any more accolades. It looks as though everybody on Pnet has already been here and deposited kind and well deserved commentary. As has repeatedly been stated, your images are preeminently humane. Not a one do I see that is not technically astute. And the portraits are so accomplished. They show such depth. I shall be envious of your abilities as long as I'm trying to make images. Really.

Hello Friend!
Well here it is another year is passing away and we are coming into the holidays. I think time starts to go faster as we get older, it was just yesterday I wished my friends Happy Holidays and here it is again the end of a year. The holiday lights are starting to be put on some of the trees here in Dallas, we were out last night and some were lighting the trees. I wish for you all a holiday season with family and friends, after all is said and done all we have is each other.
I want all of you to know just what your comments and ratings on my work means to me, your words are my motivation, my drive to discover, to learn this art that we all love, thank you for taking time and thank you for caring about my works. At the same time thank you for letting us see your world, our lives are so much the same, we all care about our families and friends and we all share the same things, maybe someday our photos will help make for a lasting world peace. May you and your family be blessed this season.
Happy Holidays and Happy Shooting

I really appreciate you taking the time to comment on my images and for the positive encouragement. I have looked at your portfolio numerous times and again, you are making fantastic images with life and meaning all in the original shot. Previously I also shot in a traditional way for many years but have in recent history started photographing just the parts and do the composing in Lightroom and Photoshop....round and round we go blending technology and the unrelenting compulsion to create...Keep up the great work and thanks again....Ron Dobbs

I've seen a comment by you on my portfolio as well as on the portfolios of other photographers I admire so I thought I'd finally come over and take a look at the man behind the words. I always start with an overview of the thumbnails since I find that you can get a general feeling for the photographer's eye and approach that way. Just a cursory look through shows me that you have a wonderful sense of composition and a wide range of interests. Your pictures are accessible and technically well produced and seem to strike a chord in a wide range of people. Those were my first impressions; I'll be back to take a closer look and add my comments.

Hey again Joseph
Thank you so much again for your time and comments on my work. You comments are always very supportive and encouraging. Every time I come to your site I have the opportunity to carefully observe your work and always find it captures the essence of imaging. Your vision is streamlined in the narrative since.....strong story telling with the essentials intact and always beautiful tones and cohesive blending of color and light. Very creative and wonderful. Twenty years ago when working in journalism I always tried to do the same but my vision has been corrupted with PS and other software and now only photograph pieces and parts.....composing only on the computer screen....hopefully one day I can get back to doing it real! Aways the creative quest! It is my honor to be your friend...keep me posted on your new work! Very best regards...Ron Dobbs

Hello Joseph,
Popped in to take a look after seeing many of your images on the critique.
Delicate, varied and imaginative.
Lovely images of children. And great street photography in which you show your mastery at catching the right moment. Often creating magic along the way.
Very expressive and amusing street images - and much to my liking as they are my preferred type of pictures.
And overall - a solid and highly enjoyable portfolio.
All the best to you
