Great Start!

Hey, John, this is great! I am the first to comment on your work. Judging from what you've posted so far, you've got an eye for landscape. Impressive shots, each of them. I appreciate your comments about U.S. Highway 395; I need to check out other sections of it in Nevada, Oregon, and Washington. In fact, I am headed back up 395 this weekend to the White Mountains outside of Bishop, Calif. to try and get some sunrise/sunset shots of the bristlecone pines up there. Stay in touch, and keep up the fine work! Cheers! Chris

John, I'm happy to return the compliment! You have a beautiful portfolio. I always thought I should spend more time in the northwest and your work certainly helps reinforce it.

John-

As Guy Tal said, just above me here; I am happy to return the compliments! Your work is extraordinary. Your landscape work has consistently been very inspirational to me since I found it earlier in summer of 2007. I want you to know that I am planning a photography adventure up in your neck of the woods this summer. I'll keep you posted as to dates, etc.; I'd love to have the opportunity to meet you, and have you show me around a couple of your favorite spots. Meanwhile, keep up the great work, John; and I look forward to sharing adventures and images with you in 2008! Cheers! Chris

Thanks for the wonderful comment on my folio.Like to return that back to you. Really enjoyed your folio. A lot of folks think of Oregon and Washington as green and lush. Most never see the desert side of the 2 beautiful states. Thanks for sharing your captures with us. Looking forward to seeing more of your shots. Thanks again, RAY

Thank you for your comment on my portfolio and my image. I love landscape I just don't get out of Sacramento as often as I would like. You have a very beautiful portfolio. Have you ever heard of Galen Rowell and Mountain Light Gallery (http://www.mountainlight.com/)? Some of your images remind me of his style of work. I look forward to learning more from you and to getting to know you better. ........Sherle

John

Found your work by way of a comment you made on Mary Dineen's 'Idleness' photo. Your work is outstanding, and I just wanted to tell you that I'm off to bed now, but will be back soon. We will be attending a wedding in Portland, OR at the end of August, and we'll be doing some traveling and photography. Your Pacific NW stuff is impressive, and I'll no doubt gather a lot of great ideas from your work. Bravo!

Thanks, Christal. There's lots and lots to see here! If you're starting from Portland, you might try a trip east to Mt. Hood, over to the desert side, south to Redmond, and back over Highway 242, from Sisters. 242 is really worth a visit: the massive lava flow on the pass is truly jaw-dropping. Feel free to drop me a private email, if you want more specific suggestions.

To John

Thanks, John. I'll do that closer to our actual trip. We're still not sure how much time we'll be spending in the Portland area. We may be driving up to BC to meet my son-in-law's family. Thanks for the offer.....and if not this time, then next. I'll look forward to spending more time looking closely at your portfolio. :)
