Thanks for the encouragement...
Dear Joe, thanks for taking the time to visit my portfolio and for your remarks. It is constructive encouragement such as yours that inspires me to strive for creating better images than I do presently.
I've visited your portfolio a few times, and i dare say the autumn and winterscapes photos are quite unbelievable - the winterscapes for their stark beauty (and for the most part, devoid of colour) and the autumn pictures for the unbelievable colour!!! Inspired captures...
Cheerz!
Saurav.

Joe..
Thanks for your thoughtful comment on my portfolio. It means a lot to me when someone comes in and actually "looks".. I can tell from your comment that you did that. I appreciate the kind words more than you know.
I personally love your concert folder... mostly cuz of how you captured some of the passion of the musicians... timing is everything on shots like those, just as it is in childrens photography. Well done!
I also love the fall colors.. wonderful stuff. :o)
thanks again,
jb :o)

Hello, Joe,
Yhank you for stopping by my portfolio and the kind comments!
You have some nice work here, I particularly like the musician folder. I am the photographer for our local, small town symphony, so I can appreciate the effort to get good expression. Good job there. You have a beautiful family!
Best regards,
Tammy
Sherry Kersell , March 09, 2007; 10:55 P.M.
Hello Joe... it's Sherry, the one that recently sent you an e-mail. I've taken a moment to look more closely at your portfolio. I too love the scenic pictures as well as the live concert pictures you've taken. As you continue to expiriment, you'll find that you'll have a stronger talent in one area. Go with that and focus all your energy and learning in that area. May I offer a constructive suggestion on your indoor photography of people. Watch out for the fill-flash. If you are working with a built-in fill flash, you'll notice obvious strong lighting on the faces and dark background or surrounding the subject. Best, if possible, to work with a camera with an external flash mount. The further the flash is away from the lens the better off you are. Also, if you are able to adjust the direction of the flash and bounce flash off a ceiling, your lighting on the overall image will be more balanced. Expiriment a little and you'll start to notice what I'm talking about. I've had many on PN point this out to me when I first started posting. Kind regards. -Sherry

Just dropped by to see these images and wanted to say how much I like them. Thanks for the advice on the dull flat grey skies - see from your snow pictures that you can get really stunning pictures in these conditions. Now will have to see if I can put that into practise. BTW loved your pictures with blue sky too!!

Joe, Thank you for the comment on my portfolio. You have a neat array of photos yourself. I think the winter scenes are my favorite. I also like how you capture people. Keep shooting. Talk soon :O) Leanna

Joe, a very nice portfolio; I think we (certainly at least me) could use a bit more of that "brutal honesty" your mentioned of your mentor in your bio. Thanks for your comments.

Joe!
Thanks once again for all those wonderful suggestions about my photographs! They were extremely encouraging for a semi-amateur that I am! :) I shall try out all of them very soon! My equiment is extremely limited and so is my knowledge about photography. All those photographs you saw on my portfolio are results of sheer experimentation. I am currently saving up money and hoping to graduate to a digi-SLR sometime next year! Thanks once again and I request you to visit my portfolio once again in a week; there'll be some more new additions by then!
Best regards,
Vamsi Krishna

Raymond, thanks for the heads-up on the sunset panorama. I agree ... it is very pretty, and I see from her explanation that it was a stitch of four frames. Very interesting approach for a brilliant-sky sunset, no?

Joe - A good variety of compostion here. I like the work you do with things taken from a somewhat different perspective... Play with the angles... A picture is worth a thousand words... Have the image tell that good story...! I am noticing that you have that knack for capturing emotion in your images... Keep it up.
And thanks for stopping by and taking a look at what I've been doing as well!

Namaskar!!
Many thanks again sir, for those inspiring words and wonderful suggestions; I shall try them all in the near future!! :) My equipment is very limited and I recently bought a set of screw-on close-up lenses using which I got many of the macro shots ('Origins' etc). I heard that they bring down the quality of the photograph. Is that true?? Will I be better off buying myself a dedicated macro lens??
There'll be more shots coming up soon. So, please do drop by again!!
Best regards,
Vamsi Krishna
