Those are some pretty sick shots! I've tried shooting wakeboarders once... I miffed it up pretty good, though (forgot my spare batteries-- ended up spending a nice day on a boat).

What length of lens do you use for that work? It's hard to tell where you're shooting from-- chase boat? Fixed platform, shore, etc?

Great shots!

Dear Josh,

I've spent hours watching your entire portofolio! I've had a great time, laughing at your wedding pictures. You have such a good sense of humour! My impression is that you make a real anthropological approach on wedding ceremonial, rituals and party. For me, an East European, your portofolio has the character of a documentary that offers me the opportunity of an insight in the American society & life style. Thank you for sharing these pictures here!

Best regards,

Mirona Tatu

Dear Josh.

Interesting collection of works. An easy sight at an event. Correct expression of an idea of the artist. Successes at our interesting forum!

Hi Josh, I was reading your comments in the wedding photography forum on what to include in a wedding package. I liked what you said about not wanting to spend time on album and packages or prints. That has been my philosophy but I have gotten printed proofs. So I decided to look at your portfolio. I like your images because they are so clean. Are they like that out of the camera or do you much post processing?

Regards, George Givens

Josh, I am fairly new to photo.net, but wanted to say I love it. It is a great venue for a someone new to this "photography" stuff. I also wanted to say, I love your work. I am looking forward to learning from you and the many amazing artists located here. Sheri

I concur with the comments made earlier. This is amazing array of photographs, showing your mastery of a variety of situations. Particularly, the shot of the thumb pianos really caught my eye. Its detail is very effective, and the wood's color is quite rich.

As a PN newcomer, I too look forward to learning as much as possible. And the abilities you have demonstrated will help me do that!

Most gracefully,

...Greets from France. Enjoy all I see and read on photo.net...This time Josh if I may call you by your first...your photography makes me homesick for the West Coast. I haven't seen Vancouver B.C. for a long time and your shooting shows me much that I recall fondly. Thanks for the Site. I learn a great deal and see much that gives me pleasure and knowledge.

yours, Ed G. Gil

Hi Josh, I like your display of photographs per equipment, good honest photography displayed without PS changes, that shows what you can really exspect. Would be nice to see more of that. Would interest me to see pics of the new 5D mk11 and Nikon D700 or the 1ds Mk111 and a D3 or D3x. May be some one would sponsor pay you to do review work. Happy new year.

Daniel Hristescu , December 31, 2008; 03:25 P.M.

Happy New Year !

It seems to me you have never touched one of the beauties in SLR, I mean Minolta Dynax film camera. For sure you are relatively rich to buy all these different cameras and lenses and try them all. Somehow I envy you, but hey as what 'they' say, "that's life".
It seems to me you are a family man with lots of love to your family, friends, and cameras of course.
Good portfolio.
Good luck with your life and capture of world around yourself.

Gosh Josh!

It makes a refreshing change to see pictures shot not from the eye but heart which in many cases shows more and therefore a better class of art.

You work so hard behind the scenes Josh,

Wishing you and 'yours' the very Best of the Christmas Season; Memories to Cherish; Family and Friends gathered in Good Cheer; Time to 'STOP' and 'JUST BREATHE'; and a New Year that speaks to you of days filled with Sunshine and Happiness; Good Health and Contentment; and just PERHAPS the 'glimmer of hope' for a World that could experience, if for just a little while, Peace and Harmony, for this tired Earth is in such desperate need of such a Blessing right now ! with sincerest Good Tidings, Gail

These are rolickking great images! Suspect you convince your lovely bride to produce handsome babies for the wonderful subjects they make!
Would like to add my very sincere thanks for your deft running of this top-notch photo web site. Have always felt visiting here I was in company with photo giants who were generous and patient with their advice.
