Good start to your portfolio. I especially like the way you use PS - it's careful and augments the qualities the photograph already has. I hope to see more.

Gul Chotrani , March 19, 2005; 11:59 P.M.

This is the sort of stuff that I like, esp geometry. Great.

Carlo Torres , April 02, 2005; 08:21 A.M.

Really enjoyed looking at your photos. Extreme examples of "discord" in your Architectural photos, great composition, colors, and strong lines. You have a great portfolio!

Sam Zaid , April 23, 2005; 09:21 P.M.

Thanks for sharing your wonderful pictures!

Manu Poelmans , May 24, 2005; 03:59 A.M.

Well done, I love your architecture folder, the work of Frank Gehry and your ways of catching his work is very nice. I envy to see this building in real. I feel this is how architecture should be today. The reflecting blues and sky with the orange bricks contrasting are just wonderful. Keep-up the good work.

Andreas Droussiotis , May 29, 2005; 08:32 A.M.

Great forms and color. Bravo!

David Piszczek , June 02, 2005; 12:34 P.M.

James!

Sometimes it only takes a comment to view uniqueness. You have some of the most powerful architecture images I've seen. Your years of experimenting as truly paid off. Bold, bright and very detail texture you bring to your art. Thank you for your recent comments on one of images. I enjoy simple subject and making them unique. At less in my eyes.

Rina H , June 10, 2005; 09:10 A.M.

!!!

Great portfolio James. Especially the architecture folder is fantastic !!

Naftali Raz , June 19, 2005; 12:36 P.M.

eye for stucture

that is, i think, your strength. works great both for architecture and flora. it was a pleasure viewing your protfolio. thanks for your kind comment on my collection.

Biliana Rakocevic , August 04, 2005; 04:36 A.M.

Dear James, I am so amazed with all those different angles, textures of the Frank Gehry's Peter B Lewis Building Portofolio. Brillant. bravo! And I love your Architecture and Landscapes too! Very unique concept/composition and realisation!

Love your work! All my best, Biliana

Jim Signorelli , August 15, 2005; 06:17 P.M.

Architecture folder is phenomenal. I've seen a lot of Gehry's work, but I don't think I've seen it this good. Must visit Millenium Park in Chicago to see the stage he designed.

Tiina Haasma , September 13, 2005; 07:03 P.M.

good work!

your work is allways great and positive inspiration for me ! thank you ! my best regards !

Tibor M , November 22, 2005; 01:25 P.M.

Want to learn about shooting architecture? Look no further! The Frank Gehry folder is truly exceptional, and that is not because of the crazy building but because of the outstanding interpretation of this masterpiece through colors, linework, and framing. By the way, the rest of the portfolio is equally outstanding. A true source of inspiration. Best regards James!

Nanette Samol , January 11, 2006; 08:32 P.M.

Your portfolio is beautiful, James. I haven't seen architecture shots like that in a long time, they've blown me away!

Peter Martinka , January 27, 2006; 03:32 A.M.

Jim- truly an amazing portfolio. I could spend hours in here! I'll be back, frequently!

Chris Fraser , February 09, 2006; 01:39 P.M.

Has he seen them?

After looking through your amazing, stunning Lewis building photos and commenting on a few, I've got only one question: Has Gehry seen these? If not, he should.

James Kazan , February 10, 2006; 11:40 A.M.

Jayme
I want to thank you for all those wonderful comments. I really enjoyed reading them. Comments are so much better than ratings. Where in Ohio did you grow up in? and where are you living these days?

Jim

James Kazan , February 10, 2006; 11:45 A.M.

Chris
I really appreciate your in depth comments. You have a great way with the written word. Oh! I could only wish that Mr Gehry would see these. I day dream that he would see them and then fly me out to all his buildings all over the world to shoot them. Well one can dream can't they :-)

Jim

Jayme Hall - Bardstown, KY , February 11, 2006; 04:33 A.M.

Jim- We both grew up in Urbana, small town about 40 miles east of Dayton & 45 miles west of Columbus. At the present, we live in Bardstown, KY (My Old KY Home) about 35 miles south of Louisville. 250 miles south makes a huge diference in climate & culture. It has been a very life broadening experience. :)

C. G. , February 23, 2006; 10:18 P.M.

Fantastic photos, and that building could be the coolest ever. Great captures.

I'll be sure to come back by, cg

John Crosley , April 06, 2006; 05:16 A.M.

'Favorites'

I have added to my 'computer's' 'Favorite's' Folder your 'Crazy Building' photos, color and B&W, so I can turn to them anytime -- any time I feel that I feel that I am a photographer, I can just click on your images and set my head straight and pay obeisance to real photographic skill. (and when will yours be featured folder -- or has it already and I missed it?)

Any one of your 'crazy building' photos easily could be Photo of the Week [POW].

Respectfully,

John (Crosley)

Patricia Todoran , May 08, 2006; 11:45 A.M.

I very much enjoyed looking through your entire portfolio this evening. I initially thought the photos of Frank Gehry's Peter B Lewis Building were my favorites but now I can no longer choose a favorite. They are all truly spectacular! I am very impressed by your work. Happy New Year.

Jorge Arturo Perez Morales , January 21, 2008; 11:23 A.M.

Splendid

James, your portfolio is amazingly splendid! You really manage different photo topics with high standar quality. What I liked the most is the Peter B Lewis bldg. serries, actually I would like to ask how do you get such atmosphere in every picture.

wow...

James, I love your contributions in the "no words" forum as well as your portfolio, especially the perfectly composed architectural shots. I enjoy interesting architecture photography very much, because I'm a big fan of structures and geometrical forms combined with colors or a pleasant contrast in bw-shots.
although I gave it a try, my shots will never even get close to what you show us here, congrats!

keep on the great work, greets, patrick

James I have not been here before but I concur with many other comments when I tell you that your portfolio is amazing and full of very very good shots. In my eyes, however your real force is your eye for composition and it works best in your B/W photos. Some true pearls among your architectural scenes like the three you have put on your "home-page" here on PN. I'm very happy to have discovered your portfolio. Much to be learned from it.

A very intelligent and tasteful view of buildings and the great outdoors, james. Draws the eye to slow down and look for symmetry in simple shapes. I like the shot you posted on No Words Forum re: quiet water and woods. A beautiful composition indeed. You have the gift.

Outstanding

Hello James, congrats for your excellent and outstanding portfolio. I like very much your pictures. Even if I haven't published on the web any landscapes and architectural shots, I like shooting that kind of pictures.

As regards my picture "Stop Motion" I confirm you that it is definitely and completely mine. My inspiration came from viewing a famous picture of a bullet frozen in the air after having hit an apple.

Ciao from Italy

Hello!

Hi James! Your architectural shots are absolutely inspirational! Best wishes!

John Lovelace , August 12, 2010; 10:14 A.M.

Your architecture portfolio is a grabber, but the real jewel in your offerings, in my opinion, are the shots from the Cleveland Museum of Art, 1916 wing. Dead of Winter is an equally creative approach. If you're in Cleveland, hike over to the Chautauqua Institution in New York and enjoy a Victorian's paradise.

MASA OOTONARI , March 07, 2011; 02:06 A.M.

Thank you!

Thank you for a kind comment. Hereafter, I will up-load a better photograph by your comment.
