Great job!

I've been trying to get a good picture of the Monticello swans this year. Have really had trouble getting a nice pattern or isolating one or two. Great job with these. I really like these images. Cheers, Steve

Nice to hear from you, Steve Henry! I love my swans. We go to Monticello and a couple other spots, and yes, it's hard to get just one or two in the frame, but part of my enjoyment is getting them in their little groups and photographing their sometimes hilarious antics.

We did watch with much anticipation, last spring, the arrival of four cygnets. Our first glimpse was through one million mosquitoes, and from quite a distance so my photos didn't turn out that well, but I got 'em! Anyway, thank you for looking and commenting!

You have a really very interesting portfolio. In some of your photos you have captured some delicate moments.I find some of them full of sensuality. And then the swans are always very nice to look at! Regards!

Thank you, for both taking the time to look at my photos and for commenting. I'm happy that you find them interesting, that's a lovely compliment.

Thanks Laura

It does take patience to shoot macros especially when the wind and bugs are a factor. But, I believe all photography takes patience. The exception being that one in a million moment of being in the right place at the right time to quickly click of the shutter capturing that prize winning photo. However, I think that is the part of photography I like the most... the escape from the reality of life and loosing yourself totally in only what fits in your tiny viewfinder.

Enjoyed your waterfowl. Welcome to PN. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have over the years. DMc

Laura V , June 11, 2009; 09:54 P.M.

Deidre, thank you for visiting my gallery, and I'm glad you enjoyed the birds..they are my favorites, I guess. I'm still hoping for that one in a million, but enjoying the beauty of the everyday stuff as well!

Laura

You have a wonderful folio and it shows your obvious passion for bird photography. Your shots shows that you have the patience to capture the fowl in natural habitat which adds so much to your work..Bravo...RAY

blue or fairy penguins, smallest penguin in the world

Laura, since we have been having some pretty long raves on different subjects regarding photography, i thought it was time to come and view your portfolio. So your a bird lady as well, i am a bird man also. I was given some doves on my birthday a few years back now they just wont leave me alone. When i go to the garden they just follow me in what ever i do. That can be a real problem when am trying to work with flowers they land on my head my camera my subjects they have turned into a bit of a nuisance but i really have became so fond of them. Here we also have a lot of swans but ours are all black. Your Wisconsin eagle is that its real name? I am going to send you two little penguins that have been nesting under our house. They are blue penguins or fairy penguins the smallest penguin in the world. I am giving them to you because they are just to noisy under our house. Have given them away before but they seem to just keep coming back. They are only about 10 inches tall and the cutest little critter you will ever see. Hope you enjoy !

Raymond

I'm so glad you stopped by and took a look at my portfolio, but how nice of you to comment as well. I do love those birds, and they've taught me about so many things, not just photography, but life in general. Thanks again, Ray!

Marty

Thank you. I do try to find a little something about the bits and pieces of the daily life of the birds that I find so interesting. I find if I wait long enough, they forget I'm there, and that's when I get that little glimpse. Thanks again Marty!

Michael

I'm so glad you stopped by, and enjoyed my pictures. I'm working on learning how to compose better pictures and your photos have given me worlds of ideas. Thank you!

Laura V , June 23, 2009; 11:06 A.M.

HI Roger!

So nice of you to swing by and leave such a lovely gift!! I promise I'll take good care of them.. :) The Wisconsin Eagle.. just a title for the Photo because that's where we were when I took the Photos, Wisconsin, USA. They are American Bald Eagles and I usually don't get a chance to photograph them when they are so close, and with a fixed lens I'm a bit limited. Anyway, Thanks Roger, for all you help and advice.

Laura V , August 11, 2009; 08:35 P.M.

hello, again MJ Ogeron

Thank you! They really are my favorite subject, even in the bitter cold as many of those photos were taken in. But, they do make it rather easy for me!

Mauro Carli , August 20, 2009; 04:35 P.M.

Mauro

Hello! and thank you! My latest is a series of photos of some poor baby squirrels whose mama did not come home one day, and they have been alone since.. sadly, two have died. I'm hoping the third will be ok.

RL Potts , August 23, 2009; 03:13 P.M.
