Kim Barton , May 02, 2005; 08:02 A.M.

Thanks so much for both your kind comments! I just play around with my little camera, and have a wonderful time. It's people like you who help me learn and grow. Thanks!

Jamie Nicholson , May 07, 2005; 10:29 P.M.

Kim, you have a very good eye for nature shots. Keep it up. All the best.

Ken Dennis , May 08, 2005; 09:05 P.M.

Hi Kim

just droped by to see what you where up to in here!

You have some good ones here, and some that could use a little work, but you already know this per your saying as such on the photo's themselves!

There's no denying that you do have a natural talent, an eye for such, in its raw state, IM going to keep an eye on your progress, as I think you will be exibiting some really fine pieces here in the future, and I wouldn't miss it for the world!

Good luck, and have fun!

Ken.

Jack Lavoie , May 25, 2005; 11:50 P.M.

WOW! You really have some great shots! Keep them coming!

Rebecca Hunt , June 20, 2005; 08:52 A.M.

Hi Kim, thanks for the comments and viewing of my photos. You have a very vibrant and colourful collection of photos in your portfolio.

Your lizard collection is by far your most interesting and well thought out photographs. Play with some more interesting layouts with interesting elements, and I'm sure you'll produce somethiing eye warming.

Thanks for sharing.

John Fetchko , June 22, 2005; 10:23 P.M.

great portfolio

Thanks for rating my photo--I am miffed by rating system as a new guy--everybody else's pictures look good-- but some--don't know about them Yours are great though!

John Fetchko , June 22, 2005; 10:34 P.M.

P.S.

I can never get a horizon straight unless I switch on my "thirds" grid in camera. luckily we can straighten them later!

Kim Barton , June 24, 2005; 11:38 A.M.

Thanks John, I don't rate much, because the rating system is too frustrating. Some people give you low ratings on everything, and some people don't know the meaning of Originality...don't lose any sleep over the rating system. It's the comments that are useful and helpful.

charlene harris , June 29, 2005; 06:47 P.M.

WOW !! A pleasure to view. Truly imaginative, unique style. Shows your love of life. I must thank you for sharing... ~

Guillermo Aguirre-Condit , June 29, 2005; 10:02 P.M.

Thank you

Tanks for your comentary on mine, yours are really great, you live in the mountain, I live in the desert. Keep taking photos, you are a great eye. And yes I learn from you, still simplicity as it is, could be beautiful and original. Thanks again.

Kim Barton , July 03, 2005; 01:49 A.M.

Thank you all for your kind comments!

Dennis Barnett , July 14, 2005; 11:11 A.M.

Kim, you've built a very nice portfolio. Great abstracts and eye for color, showing abudant talent. The only drawback I have, and of course it's subjective, is that there's too much. Many of the photos are wonderful, but some don't attain nearly the level of your best work. I would recommend some editing down to perhaps 40 or 50 and your portfolio would be a knockout.

Alec Ee , July 20, 2005; 07:38 P.M.

Kim, you live a beautiful part of the world and your images does it justice. I will love to visit again. THanks for sharing.

Kim Barton , July 23, 2005; 10:10 A.M.

Thanks Dennis and Alec! Dennis, some of those photos are just "snapshots" for the purpose of sharing my world with my friends here on pn. I've deleted a few of them, but I'd appreciate it if you would point out the ones you think are the worst. A couple I left because the discussion contains something I want to remember.

Kedy Kruusmägi , July 23, 2005; 02:32 P.M.

hey Kim

I have taking part of your portfolio. Wonderful photoes. I love theme. Best regards. / Kedy

outstanding porfolio; i see you have photography under your skin, lying on the ground and doing what ever it takes to get that shot, and i thought i was the only nut case that did that kind of stuff. my friends don,t belive me when i tell them it took four hours a day for four days sitting in freezeing cold weather, to get a photo of a bird in a certan place sitting on a particular spot with the light just right. thank for viewing my photo and takeing the time to comment sincerly Joe B.

Good God your work is magnificent. I love all your work. I told my wife we have got to move out west and leave the Great Lakes state for a local like yours. You should be shooting for the tourist bureau.

Larry Darnell , May 04, 2006; 01:20 A.M.

Portfolios of work often have a variety of quality. Yours does too. But more often than not, the quality of your eye is very sophisticated. Perhaps it's for the fun of it, but I'd say find representation if you haven't. If you'd like to make a living at this, the odds are in your favor.

Kim Barton , May 24, 2006; 12:13 A.M.

Ric, Michael, and Larry

Thank you all for your very flattering comments! I do live in a great place, but am usually left frustrated at my inability to capture the true beauty of my subjects...thanks for the encouragement!

Christopher Harris , November 16, 2006; 04:14 P.M.

Kim, you really have a fine collection of work here. I've visited several times, and each time I find several images that I spend time looking at. You've really got an eye for composition, orginality, and color. Your new stuff is just superb. I particularly liked the aspen trunk with the red fall leaves. Your collection of lizards is very original and well done. I have to say that my favorites are your landscapes - you've got a wonderful 'connection' with the American West. Bravo! Hello Friend!

Well here it is another year is passing away and we are coming into the holidays. I think time starts to go faster as we get older, it was just yesterday I wished my friends Happy Holidays and here it is again the end of a year. The holiday lights are starting to be put on some of the trees here in Dallas, we were out last night and some were lighting the trees. I wish for you all a holiday season with family and friends, after all is said and done all we have is each other.

I want all of you to know just what your comments and ratings on my work means to me, your words are my motivation, my drive to discover, to learn this art that we all love, thank you for taking time and thank you for caring about my works. At the same time thank you for letting us see your world, our lives are so much the same, we all care about our families and friends and we all share the same things, maybe someday our photos will help make for a lasting world peace. May you and your family be blessed this season.

Happy Holidays and Happy Shooting

Ken

Hi Kim, Thank you so much for taking interest and passing the comment by my photo "purple & white" it was so sweet of you. Yes, I must admit my husband and myself have travelled rather a lot. Unfortunately, from the time we started with our overseas trips like Euope,Russia,Finland,Seychelles,NewYork, etc,I was CRAZY not to have had a camera and just stand by and let my husband take all the photos of our trips. Today, I want to kick my own butt for that. Now, I will just have to make sure we do those lovely memorable trips all over again.Enough of my trips. What I wanted to say is I saw you commented on one of my photos and that steered me to your portfolio which kept me busy for quite some time. Wow, what a lovely trip I had here and I did not even have to get off my chair. Congrats on your great portfolio, and thank you for sharing with us all. Warmest Regards from Johanna in SouthAfrica

The greatest gift I have ever given myself is my membership to Photo.net. Not only am I learning more about photography (and hopefully becoming a better photographer), but it has allowed me to meet such a wonderful community of people. To all my friends who have helped me, consoled me, praised or criticized me, and above all inspired me……I offer thanks to all of you for playing such an important role in my life and therefore my happiness. I send you all warm greetings for a wonderful holiday season and Happy New Year! I look forward to many more interactions with you in 2010.

First, thanks for all those great comments on some of my recent work. Second, your folio is awesome. Really like your bird photographs alot. Wish I had the patience to do them but think I'll keep to landscapes. Chris's link to your site just added a couple of new photos to my favorite folio. Your landscapes are so vibrant and the colors you capture are marvelous. I will be dropping by from time to time to see your latest work. Keep shooting and having fun...Ray
