Hello Friend!

Well here it is another year is passing away and we are coming into the holidays. I think time starts to go faster as we get older, it was just yesterday I wished my friends Happy Holidays and here it is again the end of a year. The holiday lights are starting to be put on some of the trees here in Dallas, we were out last night and some were lighting the trees. I wish for you all a holiday season with family and friends, after all is said and done all we have is each other.

I want all of you to know just what your comments and ratings on my work means to me, your words are my motivation, my drive to discover, to learn this art that we all love, thank you for taking time and thank you for caring about my works. At the same time thank you for letting us see your world, our lives are so much the same, we all care about our families and friends and we all share the same things, maybe someday our photos will help make for a lasting world peace. May you and your family be blessed this season.

Happy Holidays and Happy Shooting

Ken

Ben - thanks for your positive comment on my fireworks picture. It was especially fun as I was shooting fireworks for the first time. With the big caveat that I myself am in the learning mode re photography, here are some of my experiences regarding your question. I generally played around until I got the 'correct' exposure. As the fireworks show lasted barely 15 minutes, and the shots were 25-30" apiece, I had time for only a few takes, and had to improvise quickly. My conclusions are to use a wider angle and a higher f number to get a good shot. The shot posted was my final one taken, which is a quantum leap better than my first one about 10 mins earlier. Having made the visit here, I find your portfolio very beautiful, with some really superb flower shots. Look forward to more from you. Best regards, Sekhar

Hello fellow photographer! You have many beautiful captures in your Portfolio. I myself tend to keep going back to look at the lightning and fireworks photos. The flower and plant captures are stunning as well, the macros are very detailed (i need to get a good macro lens). Keep up the good work, I will keep an eye for any new additions..everything that I view on this community site gives me more inspiration to follow my calling, take care and Happy Shooting! Robert

Andy's Wedding

The "Andy's Wedding" gallery was all taken while attending my brother Andy's wedding to Ashley in Nashville over Labor Day 2007. My then-7-year-old son Micah held the leash of the ring bearer, who was my brother's poodle, Monroe. These photos were submitted to http://www.CaptureMusicCity.com, a local newspaper's 2008 attempt to compile a coffee table book of photos representing all aspects of life in and near Nashville.

Hi Ben, After commenting on your photo in the critique forum I came to take a look at your portfolio. Then after commenting on the first photo in it I decided I better just leave a comment here as there were too many great shots and I'd be here all day! I particularly love your family and friends folder.....you sure have a great eye, and perfect timing! I'll be back to visit again....
