Like the photo's,Peter.Like many,I too started with a K1000.I however still shoot film.My wife went digital. But me,I guess I'm just a sentimental "old jarhead" who loves his film.Great portfolio.

Peter, Thank you for commenting on my portrait. To tell you the truth that is my wife sitting for me. The day was overcast but you Brits are probably better at taking pics in those conditions. I should have used a higher Fstop. You certainly seem to be in touch and aligned with your inner being. Your photo's tell it all. I am too partial to my trusty film Nikon N55. It gives me a feeling of visiting a place that brought me to where I am now. I mostly shoot digital but when I want to shoot PJ, film gives it more life. Thanks again for the comments.

Thanks for looking at my photos during the past few months. Your portfolio is very diverse. It was a real pleasure to go through it from the portrait of Warnie to your shots in France. It was interesting to compare our Venice photos taken from the same vantage point. You also have a fine countryside shot in France at sunrise with some mist and sunlight diffusing very attractively through. Perhaps some more night photos would be good to add to your portfolio.

I also feel as you do that the quality of my work is intermittent, some brilliant, some rubbish. All part of the learning process I suppose. Keep shooting and posting.

These are good, esp. the pictures of France and the roadsign in particular. Just the sort of thing it is easy to miss, but worth looking at when someone shows it to you.

Your portfolio is a collection of images that, when viewed together, reveals something that would otherwise go unnoticed. It's a song. Each note listened to individually may be beautiful, but put them together, and you have something much more. Your images have a soul. They are a glimpse into the essence of life.

thanks for your comments on my pics,shot was taken with a 20D with a sigma 50-500 shutter speed was 1/250s camera set on p mode let it srt out the aperture.Nice portfolio .Cheers Duncan

Hi Peter, I like your 'old scans' gallery the best. the colours and composition have a retro feel, and very eye catching. I like the way you have burnt some of the shots - just right. The other glass held sparkling water. Im a big water fan, so that small glass that came with the melange wasnt enough! Its just milk froth in the coffee cup.. with a springkling of cocoa powder. a must have in vienna. give it a shot should you find yourself in that fine city. Cheers, Rosmini

Decades ago I watched a Soutbank show about Bill Brandt which inspired me to try my hand at photography. In those days I used a Pentax K1000, I now use a digital Minolta Z5. Your comment has made my day, and I think my happy feeling will last longer. Many thanks.

It's realy difficult to capture one artistic documentary photo because you have to observe lots of different pionts. and i think there are many photos in your portfolio which are artistic works and documentary too!

Many thanks for the comment on my incubating Great Crested Grebe photograph. As for your Grebes, they may not have abandoned their nest. Occasionally when they go out on feeding excurtions they cover the nest in rotting vegitation. The bacteria rotting the vegitation keep the eggs warm. If it was very recent I would check the nest again. Thanks again for the comment, Peter.

Hello Friend!

Well here it is another year is passing away and we are coming into the holidays. I think time starts to go faster as we get older, it was just yesterday I wished my friends Happy Holidays and here it is again the end of a year. The holiday lights are starting to be put on some of the trees here in Dallas, we were out last night 11-7-07 and some were lighting the trees. I wish for you all a holiday season with family and friends, after all is said and done all we have is each other.

I want all of you to know just what your comments and ratings on my work means to me, your words are my motivation, my drive to discover, to learn this art that we all love, thank you for taking time and thank you for caring about my works. At the same time thank you for letting us see your world, our lives are so much the same, we all care about our families and friends and we all share the same things, maybe someday our photos will help make for a lasting world peace. May you and your family be blessed this season.

First and for all, thank you for visiting and commenting on my recent B/W critique forum submission - which in fact- gave me the opportunity to discover your works. I just scrolled through your folders and, in summary, I can only congratulate you for your excellent works. I can't favoritize the one or other series because every individual folder has extraordinary content and is a true representative for the artistic variety in your works. But very subjectively, I like the 'Lord's' because I lived in St. John's wood for quite a while and the cricket ground was just around the corner, so.....However, from now on I will pop in from time to time to see what new ' gooddies' you added to your folders and to refresh my memory a bit. I love the biography photo,in equestrian section I love winter and pulling face are very funny, LRPS- pictures nr.7, 2, and 9 are good made, I love the pictures of Bisham church, the picture swan at dusk,, Cliveden Reach are very interesting photos, I love very much that one called up close and personal is very funny, stilish life are nice too particularry smiledon bons and the image call poinnts, I like France2006 Talmont is nice. Very nice collection of photos here, Peter. I especially like the variety of work you show. Thanks for the recent comment on my Walla Walla landscape photo. I agree, the shot would look so much nicer with some outstanding lighting. I tend to grab shots at the moment and, unfortunately, don't get to wait for that perfect hour like I would prefer. I admit, that makes me less than a serious photographer. Great to hear from you. (By the way, I was in Chester when I was about 20 and I got one of my earliest photos looking across the River Dee - quite memorable.)

Besides photography, we have another common issue. I am toxinologist. I have worked with snake venom toxins since 1991, now I am at the National Toxins Research Center at Texas A&M University Kingsville.

When fractionating, I have found "plenty" of time to do something else besides read more about PLA2, platelets, coagulation, molecular genetics.... so I discovered that mean while my brain process... I discovered many interesting images to photograph...

You have a great portfolio! I like to practice to be documentarist... I like you portraits!

Peter, thanks for rating my image of Brad, it has given me an opportunity to see your folios, I think you have a great eye for photography, the diversity and competence shows through, love the image of the horse doing weird things with it's mouth, I am sure I have seen this image somewhere.
