I like Radio Days and Memories; they look as if someone has just got up and walked away leaving clues about their lives. Quite poignant.

Hi Jan,

It seems that Vultee was just a trouble maker - I have to tell you, I was not expecting this level of quality from your protfolio give the Vultee pics! I don't know what happened there - but I can certainly say that I sympathise with the unique problems peresented by aircraft in general (big wings, things sticking out of them, sheer size, etc.) and especially aircraft in captivity. As you may have noticed from my very humble protfolio, I am an aviation fanatic, so the travails of that sort are not foreign to me! I have to say - you have some wonderful work here - your still natures are incredible! While most of your work is of a very high standard, it seems that your strenght lies with those! Now, having seen them - I have to reiterate: leave that photoshop trickery! You have no use for it - your work says as much! And that is not just me being a film guy - I understand that Photoshop is a powerful tool, but sometimes it just falls into gimmickry, and your work is far too good to be obscured by that. Kudos on the great shots - I am going back to enjoy some more of them!

Peter.

Jan, its been a while since I had a look at your portfolio, and its even more impressive now! I just wanted to stop by and tell you how much I loved the pictures of the sled dogs. Lovely work there, as well as on the other new additions.

Jan, as you requested I stopped in to check on your hdr experiments. All I can say is that there is no reason why your hdr album does not look as good as the "Cli" album you have above it. As I stated earlier, the artsy effects are fun but I am not sure they really accomplish anything...those can be created through playing with layers in photoshop etc. HDR is a tool that can display an incredible amount of detail in the image because the blended shots contain information in midtones, shadows and highlights that cannot be displayed together in 'traditional' photography. It also captures a higher dynamic range of light... hence the name hdr. My belief is that if you are going to forego these amazing positives so that you can create a fun effect then what is the point of using the technique...? Regardless, I am not knocking your images because they are fun and appealing also... but why not just use layers? Anyway, I wish you luck and I am always happy to help with these techniques - take care, Glenn++++

Hello Friend!

Well here it is another year is passing away and we are coming into the holidays. I think time starts to go faster as we get older, it was just yesterday I wished my friends Happy Holidays and here it is again the end of a year. The holiday lights are starting to be put on some of the trees here in Dallas, we were out last night and some were lighting the trees. I wish for you all a holiday season with family and friends, after all is said and done all we have is each other.

I want all of you to know just what your comments and ratings on my work means to me, your words are my motivation, my drive to discover, to learn this art that we all love, thank you for taking time and thank you for caring about my works. At the same time thank you for letting us see your world, our lives are so much the same, we all care about our families and friends and we all share the same things, maybe someday our photos will help make for a lasting world peace. May you and your family be blessed this season.

Happy Holidays and Happy Shooting

Ken

Jan, Had a chance to revisit your portfolio and thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Your vivid imagination and artistic eye show through in your work. I especially enjoyed seeing how you take ordinary objects and let us see them in a different way, including them becoming actors in little dioramas or plays. Best Regards, Jerry
