Featured Photographer

Looking at all of Luong's contributions to PhotoNet, this is one photographer that deserves the reconition. Although the rating system does allow the better photographers and photographs to bubble up, the system, in my opinion, should not be used by itself to judge the merits of a photographer's work.

This photographer apparently has tremendous depth as an individual as well as a photographer, going by his own web site (http://www.terragalleria.com/statement.html). While the work presented in this portfolio is, in totality, a tad too 'travelicious' for my taste, he clearly has an exquisite eye for color and composition.

This stuff is good. Really, really good.

Nestor Botta , May 26, 2003; 01:52 P.M.

I remember Quang-Tuan's shots for beeing some of them the very first ones that I admired when I came to this site, 2 years ago. I still keep an eye on his work, there's always something new to learn and see.<p>

Good portfolios's choice.

Thank you for this very, inspirational portfolio. Colors are exquisite, composition astounding. Thanks! cc

Too Blue

Although Quang-Tuan certainly has taken lots of great photos, I think many of them have been ruined by excessive polarization. Not only are many of the skies too blue, but careless use of polarization can result in very uneven tone in the sky.

Bernie Kubiak , May 26, 2003; 06:38 P.M.

Many strong images in this portfolio. I do agree with the preceeding comment about "too blue" with some. A lot of the saturated images work, tho'. Shoot more!

Ryan Bergstrom , May 26, 2003; 08:11 P.M.

It's images like these that inspire many to pick up a camera. I wish I could travel the world like this artist let alone take pictures with such great quality.

I love this picture, expecially the National Park! I think you catch the nature deep sense of wonder

Amazing Portfolio

Truly amazing photography - from the contrasting colors of the blue and orange fruits to the amazing landscapes at US National Parks. The landscapes and nature shots will prove to me there still are interesting ways of capturing images in the natural world, even though I haven’t found any of those scenes yet. Keep up the good work!!!

amazing folder!

great shots, good eye for composition and color. Landscapes being my favorite, I highly enjoy browsing through your portfolio. I'm sure i can learn a thing or two looking at these pictures ;)

Patrick MERLAY , May 28, 2003; 10:57 A.M.

Congratulation !

I realy like your work and your "National Geographic style". Your personnal web site, that shows many more portraits and street photography, is one of my favorite. Landscape and traveling photography is still alive ! Thank you to photo.net for getting such a photographer better known.

Fantastic photos

A very impressive presentation !

peter bosco , May 29, 2003; 10:26 A.M.

You are obviously an "accomplished" photographer - whatever that implies. You have a strong design sense and know how to "create" an image. Some of the work has a commercial component to it. The intense color is almost overwhelming. You seem to have developed a certain sensibility. In-depth, intense feedback from a respected critic is what you need at this point. It is easy to "ooh" and "ahh" over stuff like this. What does it mean to you? That is the real question. "Good" pictures have meaning and significance - they live. A few of yours might. Think about trying large format black and white - do something different. Good Luck. Peter

Wow, this is truely amazing. How can the color be so rich? I wish someday I can take pictures like that...

Christiansen William , May 30, 2003; 03:59 P.M.

Thanks for posting this gentlemans work.

Robert Ash , May 31, 2003; 12:53 P.M.

Really great!!! The rich colors and tones work wonderfully with the subject matter. Particularly like the shot of the lone tree against the sandstone backdrop in Zion, the image has great rhythm and movement.

Jacques Henry , June 02, 2003; 11:40 P.M.

Very ecclectic photographer with impressive mastering variations in colors and themas.

Well its all been said above already, And in my eyes by the pictures you have here and the newer ones at your own web site you are among the cream of the crop! I wish I could be that good. Keep up the great work Quang-Tuan Luong, and keep having fun at it and feasting with your eyes. God's creation is great! And you are great at capturing it. If you ever feel the need to say hi to someone new I am here. Take care, all the best to you.

Thank you. Your work is an inspiration. Not overly Photoshopped, like some. It looks like a lot of hard work, but wow... how anyone should envy your life! Viewing your portfolio makes me want to quit work right now, and pursue a different path in life.

Congrats QT! I met QT this fall at the opening of a show featuring his work from the 57 national parks. Very cool and very well printed work. If you ever get the chance to see his work, do so.

Just came back from the exhibit "Treasured Lands" at Nation's Heritage Museum in Lexington, MA. Absolutely incredible images!! These images look good on the web, but are truly stunning in this exhibit. We revisited some 'old friends' (Oheo Gulch was my family's favorite) and discovered many new parks we must see (I want to go to Dry Tortugas).

I strongly recommend this exhibit for anyone in the Boston area.

Also, we look forward to your book (?same name as exhibit?).
