Sorry to add a sour note to all the good comments you have received, however, one cannot advance by marching on compliments alone! You seem to need to put all kinds of unnecessary frames around your photographs, why? Do you really feel that they are really weak and require crutches? All a serious photograph needs is a plain neutral separation from the surroundings. Think about it...

You really are a most annoying person to have the ability to produce such excellent work. When I look at what I think is some good images, I then see one of yours. Keep it up and if you ever come to Ireland I look forward to see what you produce.

Really powerfull landscapes you have, Its clear that you enjoy photography and you constantly chase for the wonderness through your camera, with the tools your great achievement requires necesary, I dont understand the attitude of some individuals who try to blow this effort and success, even without any references!.

As an artist its Ok, your composition as a photographer though is really amazing . . . Im somewhat old school with regards to photography . . . and a beginner at that too (so I probably dont merit a comment) but I must say I think the special effects and pixel manipulation spoil your true talent somewhat . . . I really admire a persons ability to capture exactly what they see . . . that is a photographer . . . I get a little disappointed when I find that its all photoshop. But as I said . . . when my photos become half as good I guess only then am I entitled to put my money where my mouth is. I do like it though

You've got some great shots in here, Kevin. I prefer the straight photos and the B+W conversions to the ones where you've gone bananas with the PS toybox - but overall I'm impressed and pleased to find lots of interesting images.

Great collection, wonderfull reuse of the some of sky in your images.

As mentioned above I'm old school as well and stil distinguish between an image and a photo. If your every in New Zealand please visit and you can teach us here in Wellington on the truly fantastic editing.

One of the most diverse and interesting portfolios I have ever seen anywhere!

I don't do composites cause its not what I want from my photography but I have no issue with it and most certainly wouldn't attack someone who uses photoshop with such skill and makes no attempt to hide it.

Kevin, my name is Karen Tawater and I belong to a photo site called SOAPhoto.com and I have come across a member there that is saying the shots she has posted were taken in the Florida Keys and I know for a fact that it isn't the keys and told a friend of mine and between the 2 of us - (well my friend actually found your shots)we did some research and have come across that you are the actual photographer of these shots. They are your boat shots that were taken at Alnmouth - the ones that were washed ashore. I just knew these weren't her shots. You can find them on SOAPHOTO.COM and then go to the first page of the gallery and drop down to the bottom and type in the ID: LADYHAWK - Then it will take you to the shots. We just had another guy on here also steal some shots and this is getting quite absurd in my book for people to do this. I am so sorry that this has happened to you and your beautiful work. I can see you are an amazing photographer and I am just an amateur but no way would I want my shots stolen either. You can reach me personally at Tawaterk@aol.com. Hello, I have got round to checking out your work and I am suitably impressed. The Northumbrian landscapes are filled with atmosphere: both with peace and some with a more unsettling aspect. I'm a great fan of photography and some of these are fantastic, if only I was curator at the Baltic!!

It's not often that I see Photoshopped images that I like but here, in many instances computer trickery has enhanced the image - perhaps because the photographer has had in his mind , the final image - many images here to covet and wish they were mine

Kevin, on the downside it's a lot to wade through, on the upside though it's never a bore but a great pleasure. You are a very good photographer. If you check some of my comments you'll notice that I tell people what I think which isn't always the same as what they like. But whether being wright or wrong I try to be as honest as I can be and in my opinion you've got a great portfolio here.

I regularly go up to Kielder to get a few nice landscapes - and my tea, as my dad lives there! It's well worth a visit if you have the time.
