Hey Wade, I love your bird photos. I'm going to Kakadu National Park which is near Darwin to checkout some bird hides at Easter. I have a long lens so I'll give it a crack and post a folder on my trip. Thanks again all for the comments, they help!!

Incredibly nice, Tim

A gallery full of eye-relieving colours with strong indication and evidence that a passionate and a patient photographer - waiting for the right moment to strike - is working here! Two words: great work.

As mentioned awhile back, I love your panoramas. New Zealand would have to be one of the best places in the world for that. I hope to go there one day in the not to distant future.

    Hi Tim

Thanks for your comment on my photo of Budapest's Chain Bridge. It's a great part of the world to visit. I really enjoyed going through your lightning photos. That's a skill I'd like to pick up. Do you need special equipment to get the timing right?

    Anil Sharma , May 16, 2006; 07:15 P.M.

Marvellous work! Great effort is put in each and every picture! I like it a lot!

    Tim Hutchins , May 18, 2006; 06:46 P.M.

No you don't need special equipment, just a shutter release cable. Any camera can take lightning but it is better if it has a bulb setting available and if digital, low noise cameras are better. I'm hoping Sony bring out a DSLR with a CMOS sensor for less noise but my KM7D seems fine. You can get a lightning trigger to mount onto your hotshoe but they are expensive. I might invest in one of those down the track. Thanks for your comments all!!

Thanks Tim for your comments on one of my photos. You are right. That part of the flower is the labellum. That is an orchid. The labellum is the third petal of an orchid flower, modified by evolution into a lip often used as an attractive landing platform for pollinators. I enjoyed very much seeing your photos and your portifolio. Beautiful photos. Congratulations.

    Cool stuff

Tim, a lotta cool pics there ... some wicked cloud and lightning images!

    Wayne Eggleston , May 22, 2006; 08:34 A.M.

    Tim,

Lightning is something I intend to try shooting in the near future, and I hope I get some shots half as good as yours. Great work, post more!

Thanks for checking out my chrome shots.

    Tim Hutchins , May 25, 2006; 06:57 P.M.

I will soon but there's no lightning here at present as it is the Dry Season. Can't wait for the next buildup.

    Stuart Reid , May 26, 2006; 10:27 P.M.

    Tim,

The lightning work stands out - well done. I especially like 'dragon with a tail'. Here the other elements work together with the lightning to create a better image, rather than the image being primarily about the lightning.

...appreciate the comments on my photos.

Tim, your lighting photographs are amazing. I lived in Darwin for a few months last year and I experienced the rainy season thunderstorms. You have definitely captured their beauty. Congratulations!
