It is a pleasure to be able to welcome you here as the first comment. From what you posted, I am sure that we will be seeing great stuff from you ! It is indeed a very small world : same education, same age, same photographic interests... and what do I see more : I see crocodile shots in your portfolio. I also have a bunch of them on CD's, resulting from my visits in France to a crocodile farm....Is this only coincidence??? Please do share your experiences with us ! I'm afraid that I do not understand Spanish, but I'll have your article translated by one of my colleagues. I work in an international institution, and many of my colleagues are spanish (my boss is even spanish !).

Meanwhile, do find attached here an article I wrote earlier :

Thank you!

I am honoured you took the time to comment on my bird of paradise! I have commented on how wonderful two of your photos are! Both on the same day! Sometime we don't keep track of the names - your photos are so wonderful! I am particulary very impressed with the croc picture! Amazing!

It is very pleasing to me to have discovered this wonderful portfolio. Thank you for giving us a look at your world. And a big salud from Washington DC.

Hola, Tomas! Thank you for the nice comments. I agree that we both share a deep love of the desert. I have been down on the Baja peninsula, in your beautiful country, several times and think it is one of the most special places in the whole world. I too, work in the water world, I work with agencies using Colorado River water in California. I love your photography, and your great talent for composition. Let's stay in touch. Adios, amigo! Chris

Hi Tomas

Yup - your coca-cola shots are going to "stir" some people! That's a good thing - I just didn't want to get into the debate on the critique forum - it could end up being a long one!! hahahaha I like how you are focusing your attention on one manufacturer (fair or not) - I think it makes more of an impact doing it that way. And I hope these images will somehow, someday, make an impact on those that do this filthy pollution.

Excelente galeria

Qu頧usto ver tus fotos mientras ando tan lejos de M鸩co. Ricardo Sandoval

I am glad to have made you reconsider the digital medium. I too am a purist at heart but I also think that embracing moderns tools and using them to your advantage only enhances the experience. It's a rare moment in life to capture an image in all the definitions of what makes a great photograph: lighting, exposure, composition, etc. That's where a darkroom comes into play, to fix what was forgotten, and luckily in this day and age we don't have to mess with chemicals to achieve what we in vision in our minds. Keeping with the original image is a must for any purist but experiment and see where you can push your creativity with as many tools as you can find.

There are many images in your portfolio that I see great potential and many that are great on their own. I will definitely be back to see more of your work. Keep up the good shooting.

You and I have a similar eye in what we photograph. Markets, doors and windows, people at work, CocaCola items... Your technical skills are much better though!

Very nice portfolio.

Good camerawork Tomas! Your eye/mind put to good use here, thanks.

Hola Tomas,

By chance I came upon your portfolio. Lots of images that catch my attention here.

You seem to have a photographic eye for the small detail. These details we sometimes tend to overlook but that can make the whole difference. I also try to see them - and capture them in my own pictures - but not as well as you. There is lots of homour in you images. And playfullness.

My favourite must be your culture and social commentary folder. Perhaps because that is closest to my own kind of images. Many surprises, lots of fun and interesting details of ordinary life. That you have managed to capture very well.

Your church interiours is beautiful, again with a good eye for the small detail. That one either takes for granted or just doesn't see.. Your mummies folder is gruesome but fascinating at the same time. These mummies don't look very happy..

Great variation, lots of fun. And thank you.

All the best to you

What a fabulous collection! There is such depth to the simplicity, freshness and diversity here. You really embraced the moment with so many of these-and the best is that you are allowing us IN by sharing it with us, the audience. Thank you Tomas and I would love to go to the exhibit...where and when, please! Your admiring buddy in SMA, Judy

Tomas, your work is as diverse as it is striking. You have a very talented eye for detail and capture, to make the ordinary into the extraordinary

Very well done. A Nice portfolio that I will enjoy seeing often.

Tomas, your portfolio is a wonder. You seem to have jumped into abstraction whole-heartedly. It seems not too long ago you mentioned an intention to get into it. Always a pleasure to return.

kambiz babakhani , May 10, 2011; 04:57 P.M.

Dear Tomas
