Piacere, a tutti i costi agli altri, per me, non e una cosa fondamentale! Prima di tutto, nella vita, qualiasi cosa faccia, deve gratificare me; se poi trovo, lungo la strada, persone che amano condividere insieme a me le loro emozioni, ne sono felice! Io penso che, dietro i grossi numeri, dietro i grandi riconoscimenti (anche qui, su photo.net...), ci sia spesso qualcosa che poco ha a che fare solo con la fotografia o con l' oggetto del riconoscimento. Ma tutto questo, anche se lo sto studiando per il piacere e per la curiosita di conoscenza verso me stesso e verso gli altri (se ti va, puoi leggere la mia biografia...), non mi disturba affatto: la vita e anche questo! per quanto concerne...l' ossessione di fissarsi su di un solo, o su pochi soggetti, non ti sei posto mai il problema che, anche fotogafare tutto, come faccio io, possa essere una fissazione?...forse ancora maggiore?...chi fa ARTE e comunque un fissato, un fissato fortunato, ma sempre un fissato! Ho guardato con grande interesse le tue foto: ti garantisco che non e per contraccambire stupidamente, ma veramente mi piacciono moltissimo! Hai sviluppato, anche grazie ad un ottimo uso della manipolazione digitale, un gusto pittorico particolare, che ha in se un po di metafisico, di surreale e tanto dei Macchiaioli: direi proprio che...CI HAI COLTO!!!! You seem to be one of few photographers who have left ordinary 'taking pictures' behind. Your works turn into real pieces of art. And as the case with all great artists; their work is immediatly recognized by their 'signature'. So is yours! This is probably the greatest achievement of any artist. Think about Van Gogh, Gauguin etc. Their works immediatly catches your eye. So does yours. VERY IMPRESSIVE! Admirable ...

I have been reading the comments on your "Photo of the Week: Village" which led me to your portfolio and to the great discovery of your beautiful photo art. After reading the PN discussion about technical photos versus artistically-altered photos, I was reminded of another quote by Ansel Adams: "There is nothing worse than a sharp photograph of a fuzzy idea." Anyone can pick up an expensive camera and shoot a "technically correct" photo of a landscape but only a very few can capture its soul. Vittorio, thank you for your comments on my hdr - looks like you have been using the hdr techniques and a bunch of others too. Your work really strikes a good note with me. I love your studies of strong shadow around light. I work occasionally to add this technique to my hdrs because they tend to look so flat after the tonemapping has been done. Immagini, non (solo) fotografie, che si fanno ammirare ed apprezzare al di la' del soggetto ripreso; la capacita' visiva artistica che trapela dal tuo lavoro e' la conferma che il fotografare e' solo un mezzo (e non il fine ultimo come tanti mostrano di credere) per arrivare a illustrare cio' che in realta' non e', se non come noi lo vediamo o immaginiamo, offrendo punti di vista alternativi della stessa realta' che altri diversamente vivono, e spesso non colgono - semplicemente 'arte'. Vittorio, I admire your imagery, especially your "nebbia" series. You have mastered, I believe, hdr + blur filter. Some of your images remind me of Canaletto's dramatic lighting and perspective. i.e. the ambiance of Basilica in Milan and Cathedral. Your portfolio is quite poetic and you have the eye and visual energy of a talented poet.

Ciao Alberto e grazie per aver visitato il mio portfolio. Con l'occasione ho potuto visionare anche il tuo, veramente molto bello, le foto sono fatte proprio bene con bellissimi colori e un'ottima selezione della scena. Riguardo la tua domanda, dipende: diciamo che in una giornata, in genere, riesco a lavorare un'immagine, ma il problema e' costituito soprattutto dal capire che cosa ottenere; per questo il piu' delle volte inizio con una serie di rifiniture e metto da parte la foto semi lavorata che poi riprendo in seguito piu' volte. In pratica non e' un risultato ottenuto tutto d'un fiato e, mettendo insieme i tempi, almeno una decina di ore ci vegliono. Ciao e complimenti ancora.

Hello Friend!

Well here it is another year is passing away and we are coming into the holidays. I think time starts to go faster as we get older, it was just yesterday I wished my friends Happy Holidays and here it is again the end of a year. The holiday lights are starting to be put on some of the trees here in Dallas, we were out last night and some were lighting the trees. I wish for you all a holiday season with family and friends, after all is said and done all we have is each other.

I want all of you to know just what your comments and ratings on my work means to me, your words are my motivation, my drive to discover, to learn this art that we all love, thank you for taking time and thank you for caring about my works. At the same time thank you for letting us see your world, our lives are so much the same, we all care about our families and friends and we all share the same things, maybe someday our photos will help make for a lasting world peace. Mi piacerebbe davvero che potessi svelare un pochetto il tuo flusso di lavoro. Ad esempio mi sembra ci sia una texture che appare spesso applicata in diverse foto, e cio蠱uella che rappresenta la carta filigrana o tela. Io non riesco a trovarla in giro, ammesso che di applicazione si tratti.

Comunque mi hai davvero spinto in una sperimentazione che spero mi porti a dei risultati quantomeno piacevoli per me. Spero anche in una esposizione fisica delle tue opere, perch蠮on mancherei di esserci! Di nuovo complimenti e un caro saluto.

Ivan, grazie per i complimenti. Non uso particolari programmi o tecniche, "solo" Photoshop e un po' tutte le tecniche di ritocco dei colori che il programma permette. Le textures sono un aspetto relativamente importante e si tratta di semplici foto di carta o muri fusi attraverso i metodi di fusione di Photoshop. Il piu' e' ritocco di colori e luminosita' (curve, livelli, canali, ecc.)

Ivan, thank you for congrats. I don't use particular software or technique, "only" Photoshop and every technique of colour retouch this software allows. Textures are not so important, anywy they are just photos of papers or walls mixed by blending modes of Photoshop. The most of these works regards retouch of colours and luminosity (curves, levels, channels, etc.)

Very creative portfolio great ... I have saw it for several minutes and my point of view was always as if I had saw a pinter.

What an excellent portolio... I saw several 7/7 but the system didnt let me rate them... some sort of spam protection. I like landscapes and architectural pcitures, your use of vignettes, texturing and filters is excellent. The images look like classic paintings, I like that. You have one of the most interesting portfolios I have seen in this site

Caro Vittorio, non e' da molto tempo che faccio parte di questa community, siamo veramente in tanti......e tanti fantastici fotografi sono ancora da scoprire. Cosi' capita che quando ricevo un commento ad una delle mie foto, un commento cosi' gentile come il tuo, mi viene spontaneo fare una visita a chi ha voluto visitare il mio portfolio . Eccomi qui....ad AMMIRARE le tue opere, dalle quali traspare una grandissima tecnica, una maestria nella post-produzione notevole, ed un notevole gusto e grande senso del colore. Da pittrice (perche' questa e' la mia grande passione, la fotografia e' arrivata in tempi abbastanza recenti) posso dirti che le tue foto sono belle come quadri, ed in loro c'e' una grande armonia. Non so quasi nulla di post-produzione quindi giudico cosi' di getto e senza cognizione di causa, ma quello che mi piace delle tue foto e' il non essere ''troppo'' cariche di ''rielaborazioni'' non so se riesco a spiegarmi. Certe volte vedo della ''digital art'' troppo esagerata, secondo me troppo ''artificiale'' ed allora mi domando...dov'e' la capacita' del fotografo, e quanto questa sia ''soffocata'' dall'abilita' di rielaborare?Le foto della serie misty landscapes and misty architecture sono veramente splendide quindi per poter sempre ammirare le tue opere ti ho inserito nella mia lista ''preferiti''.
