Thanks for visiting my portfolio Mark. I am extremely impressed by your work Mark, really beautiful landscapes caught in a distictive manner quite different in style to my own work. It is amazing how different landscapists have their own style and I found your take a real breath of fresh air. I'm glad I visited, looking by the number of visitors here I would say this portfolio is severely under-rated. Great bio too!

Magnificent Images!
Mark, I am so glad that I ran across your portfolio and all of these truly wonderful images. First, you live in one of the prettiest states in the USA, and you have absolutely managed to convey that beauty time and time again. I love North Carolina so much and eagerly look forward to each visit with my camera. But I've not come close to capturing its beauty as well as you. Second, it is abundantly clear to me the strong connection that you have with the landscape via each of your images. I can look at each image and see so much, and learn so much. I loved reading your biography and visiting your personal webpage, and wish you continued success in all of your endeavors. Hopefully, I will find you early one morning on the Middle Prong of the Little River in GSMNP. Keep up the great work! Cheers! Chris

A Follow-up Note -
Mark, I just found your note that you've recently relocated out to SoCal. I don't know if you'd ever be interested, but if you ever want, or need, a fellow photographer companion for a weekend shooting trip around California, let me know. My wife is generally not particularly interested in my early a.m. or late p.m. photo jaunts. Drop me an e-mail if you're interested. I live in the Santa Clarita valley; not that far from B-field. Cheers! Chris

Hello Mark,
Having just seen one of your photographs I have now been led to your portfolio. From one who is a comparitive newcomer to the world of digital photographer, it is most impressive to say the least, and something for us mere mortals to aspire to. Excellent work! NH.
P.S. I have also just read your bio and love your attitude.

Hi Mark,
Excellent Biography! I know exactly what you mean. And you also have a good wide array of subjects and perspectives here. I hope to broaden my portfolio in a similar way when I get more time. Unfortunately, I'm trying to do the 'eating thing' right now...LOL.

Hello Mark,
Thank you for your kind, constructive and encouraging comments on my recent photo "Forest In The Sand" I had almost given up on this one. Actually it was my wife who should take credit for the visual acuity. It was she who drew my attention to these remarkable, water etched patterns in the sand. Thank you also for taking the time to view my portfolio. Best regards, Neville H.

Thanks for your insightful comments of my "Fall Color". I enjoy reading each participant's Biography, and while most are interesting, I found yours to be particularly perceptive. Mark, your entire portfolio appeals to me. Your detailed "bio" statement repeatedly "frowns" on photography because there are "better things to do", but this is so American of you! People today, from my observations, are often frenetically busy in their distracted lives. I'm not immune, but photography forces me to slow down once in a while, open my eyes and appreciate the moments of life that pass by so quickly, and be thankful for all the beautiful things usually overlooked. Your portfolio is full of places and scenes I love! You are obviously a skilled photographer, so keep at it, man. You should not feel guilty for exploring and seeing the world everyone else is too busy to see. :) -K

Hello Friend!
Well here it is another year is passing away and we are coming into the holidays. I think time starts to go faster as we get older, it was just yesterday I wished my friends Happy Holidays and here it is again the end of a year. The holiday lights are starting to be put on some of the trees here in Dallas, we were out last night and some were lighting the trees. I wish for you all a holiday season with family and friends, after all is said and done all we have is each other.
I want all of you to know just what your comments and ratings on my work means to me, your words are my motivation, my drive to discover, to learn this art that we all love, thank you for taking time and thank you for caring about my works. At the same time thank you for letting us see your world, our lives are so much the same, we all care about our families and friends and we all share the same things, maybe someday our photos will help make for a lasting world peace. May you and your family be blessed this season.
Happy Holidays and Happy Shooting

The passion you write about on your bio's notes comes out from every single shot in your wonderful portfolio, Mark. That's what photography is all about in my opinion, to show the beauty around us, to let others be aware of that beauty. That's my aim in photography, and it's obviously yours as well.
Cheers man, keep it up!

I'm just overwhelmed by your gallery of photos. I keep seeing your name, and I've had you marked as a favorite for quite some time, but apparently I've never left comments on any of your photos. Your collection just proves that a person doesn't have to go to exotic places to find things worthy of a photograph. Nevertheless, the traveling you've done and the time you've invested in this collection is impressive. Every shot is a gem, and I plan to return for a visit and spend more time with your work. Bravo to you!

Bio Thoughts
Hey Mark - I meant to tell you that your bio puts it all into perspective. Well said. I sometimes look at the stacks of slides sitting in binders and think of the time and energy they represent. While I may have difficulty remembering what I did last week, I can look at one of my images and the story of the day comes back to me, and I remember all that went into them. Like you say, in the end, the memories will all that will be left.

Mark, thanks for visiting and for your comment. I must say I really enjoyed your images, but most of all I just loved your statement ... I know how it feels when you're there, it's like Edmund Hillary said when he was asked why does he wants to climb Mount Everest : "Because it's there!"...

Mark,
I have rated one or some of your photos and probably commented on one of them. Also, i have added you in my list and viewing your portfolio just left me with awe. I can see that there is NOT one photo that one can delete. You turn sceneries into very pleasing images like, "Cold Steel" for example. I respect your keen eye to the art and science of photography. Congratulations! - Lester

Hi Mark...You have taken some truly wonderful shots here. You have a great technique both with and without the camera, meaning PP :-)). Anyway take care...Regards Keith

MARK
Having read your rather extensive philosophy on photography I had to comment. Sure it may seem irresponsible at times to spend so much time and money on something so impractical but we as photogaphers are blessed with those moments, the better parts of the day, when others pass them by and scurry off to their routine jobs failing to appreciate quite often the beauty that surrounds us. We live in such a beautiful world and to chronical that beauty is to honor the One who created it. To leaves images of that beauty for our memories and those that follow to enjoy them, such as you are doing,is a chore no less important than any other. I don't know if you are familiar with the story of Martha and Mary but Martha always chose to do the mundane tedious chores while Mary sought other things. Jesus said that she had chosen the better path.So I'm sure your comments were somewhat tounge in cheek, take heart because all that time and expense surely must lighten the load of a great number of people who take great pleasure in your passion and that of so many others on PN who provide art and beauty to the Marthas of this world. Take heart my friend your work is greatly appreciated and a legacy that will long endure. best regards, rek
